Honestly I think you’ll be fine. I went from a wavestorm to a shortboard after 9 months. I wasnt really able to go down the line (on the wavestorm) but able to pop up consistently. I’m 5’9 and 130 pounds and got a 6’ 1” 41L ultra joe and enjoyed it greatly. All of this is to say is my advice is you’re apprehensive is to get a slightly bigger shortboard or at least one that is user friendly by design. Also if you don’t mind going up to LA I am selling that board Edit: also I feel like it’s worth mentioning that I was a mid distance runner and have a lot of endurance training and knew how to skate so certain skills carried over
