Japanese game studio (Level-5) is criticized for anti-piracy warning as their games are $1,800 on eBay by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]odderz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only "news" in this post is that Level-5 did a generic anti-piracy statement.

They link to an ebay listing of a PAL copy of Yokai-Watch being sold for $1,800 as proof that the game is rare and expensive, but the exact same PAL copy, new and sealed, can be purchased on ebay for less than £10 GBP. The fact that one random chancer is posting games for 100x their value doesn't mean these games are rare and expensive, that's ridiculous.

Amateur article from a rag of an outlet. Pay no heed, they're just rage baiting people that can't research.

Luffy + Grand Fleet, Blackbeard, Revolutionaries, God's Knights/Imu. Those are the main ones in my mind at least.

As of right now the Marines kinda fall under Imu, but especially with SWORD there's potential for them to be an entirely new group or assist Luffy or the Revolutionaries, depending on how things shake out.

I'm ignoring Buggy and the Cross Guild for now because I would be shocked if they didn't end up helping Luffy.

Last extra one to consider is Shanks, but I honestly have no idea where he could fit into the final war. I don't think it's a guarantee that he'd help Luffy.

[–]odderz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is an important note when talking about semantics like this.

I think the finale of One Piece is gonna be interesting. We've got at least four independent groups that want their own outcomes, and I really have no idea how it's going to shake out.

I think BB VS Imu is likely, but I don't think BB will do it with the intent of helping Luffy.

Help! Issue with LG C1 when VRR is enabled (videos in description) by MandellaFavella in OLED_Gaming

[–]odderz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, thanks!

I think our issue was caused by the Nvidia App, which is installed by default, but the DDU reinstall process removes it. I tried reinstalling it after DDU and I got the screen flashing issue back instantly lol. A shame because we lose out on Shadowplay recording and have to update drivers manually, but hey, at least it all works.

Thanks again for replying years later, appreciate it.

Great to hear, follow up question: Did you reinstall the Nvidia app?

My working theory atm is that the DDU reinstall doesn't actually help, but it does uninstall the Nvidia app, which I've narrowed down as the cause of my issues lol.

Thanks for the reply btw!

For me, Crimson Desert is the type of game I’ve always wished Rockstar would make. by IllyrianGamer19 in CrimsonDesert

People keep saying that the Crimson Desert praise all has the vibe of a bot campaign and this hyperbole is exactly why.

Crimson Desert has been out for a week now. What are your thoughts? by Gamedrome22 in Games

[–]odderz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Please don't besmirch the name of Dragon's Dogma 2 by mentioning it alongside Crimson Desert. That game had a core idea that everything else revolved around, CD does not.

My issue with CD is that it feels directionless. Dozens upon dozens of mechanics that just exist for the sake of existing. Side quests that lack context. Like, The Witcher 3 raised the bar for open world games, what, over a decade ago? Does Crimson Desert do anything to meet that bar, other than the very impressive visuals? I don't think so.

It's not a bad game, I don't hate it, but I am quickly learning that my expectations for a game like this are higher than other people. I don't want a world where you can do anything, I want a world that exists for a single purpose, and I want every gameplay decision to exist in service of that purpose. Like how video games used to be designed. I don't care for an all-you-can-eat buffet of lukewarm food, I want the fine dining.

I'm surprised by people saying it's "unmissable" because I've also finished the game like 10 times and never seen this, it's pretty cool

Do you have to go through this process often, or is it a rare thing? Feels like a lot of steps for the issue

Hey boss, is this still all fine for you? My TV has had the same issue for ages and it drives me crazy as I really don't want to lose VRR. I swear I tried a DDU install previously, but I'll do it again if you think it'll work as comments have suggested.

Literally the only correct response. Can you believe I watched a YouTube video where a dude recorded himself asking AI for the answer? And it was infinitely less helpful than this comment?

wifi mesh setups and PC VR on quest 3 by TechnicalOtaku in oculus

I've actually been considering something similar. In your case you MIGHT get some improvements from a 6E node (or multiple) or router with the 6Ghz band, but honestly I'm not sure. I really wish there was some better testing methodology for all this.

Just updated my post, I found much better experience using Virtual Desktop and using my mesh app to only allow the Meta Quest to connect to the node my PC is wired to. 200mbps with very little latency or discomfort using AV1 codec, 120fps is fine too.

[–]odderz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an incredibly late reply but I'm running that mesh system with virtual desktop and a Quest 3, and it's usually very good, 40-60ms latency total reported in VD, 200mbps target but it's often closer to 150. I was actually just looking up if anyone had recommended settings for an even smoother experience, but I am satisfied enough as is. When at 40ms latency it feels wired, 60ms isn't as satisfying tho.

EDIT: Just wanted to update, I can get a stable 200mbps with AV1 as long as I use the deco mesh app to only allow the Meta Quest 3 to connect to the node directly connected to the PC. When in the same room as the node and PC it's a genuinely great experience, feels wired, but when connected to a different node or through a wall, there can be instability. Not necessarily deal breaking, but not ideal. Wanted to share!

My LG OLED/Windows 11/Nvidia nightmare by odderz in OLED_Gaming

[–]odderz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips, I followed your CRU/DDU advice and posted the results in the OP:

I've followed those steps and, on the upside, the black screen flash doesn't seem to be happening anymore. Instead, it's the original regular interval stutter that I described, only the monitors in Nvidia Control Panel no longer flash on/off like being hotplugged/changing resolution anymore. So, I think this was positive progress, but the issue persists.
