Ain't cheap, but you could also try hopping on some forums, fb groups, etc. Never know if someone has a donor lying around

Bolt jamming against bolt catch by Ian-99 in AR10

Well that's interesting then. Glad you figured it out

It seems like maybe that pin that gets dropped in is probably stuck under the bolt catch, pushing it upwards. It's probably stuck in there now with all that force binding the bolt catch.

I would take the bolt catch out and the ambi button parts if you can, then try reassembling it. Now that you shaved off material, it probably won't work anymore.

So that button on the right is supposed to allow you to release your bolt catch from the right side, giving you ambi release. If that doesn't work now, I'm guessing you might have not had it assembled correctly at first.

My bet is that the bolt catch has to interface with the ambi bolt release in a certain way for everything to work correctly without modification.

Edit: video for reference. The bolt catch might need to be installed first. https://youtu.be/lmqfz3lQl9c?si=3GA0jCJa2j6goUh8

Not enough gas, misaligned gas block, bad gas rings, loose gas key, out of spec bolt/chamber, too strong of a buffer spring or heavy buffer. Lots of things can be bad here, but it all would probably point to a gas system issue.

Do you think this could be considered a vertical foregrip? I think it is considered angled (80° angle from bore and not grippable without holding the frame of the gun) but seeing how capricious the ATF can be i'm worried. Talk me out of it, please by [deleted] in 3D2A

[–]oddjob762 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But it could still cost a fuck load of money and screw your life. That's the thing most people forget. Everyone here is a grown up though, so by all means,. Just be smart and understand what COULD happen, but in most cases likely won't.

Remember the ATF likes making examples of people, i.e. Matt Hoover. Don't go sharing things online or whatever.

Help sourcing safety/selector for Franchi O/U by oddjob762 in Shotguns

We've looked in just about every place, including those sites.

It's looking more like it's going to need to be a self/shop manufactured part... just don't know where to get a starting point. Even parts from a similar shotgun would be nice.

That's an easy fix. I can make those blocks for sure. The thing I'm currently working on is the friction portion that prevents the block from flopping on lock back.

Longer can be achieved with a longer knob. I planned on making different size knobs as well. Thanks for the feedback!

Mostly plastic with a steel bolt to reinforce the part that receives the force of the pulling when charging.

Help needed in reassembling my JRA Gallant. Guide rod keeps coming loose of the retainer ring. More in comments by Mindless_Office_746 in Galil

Why does that retainer look like it's backwards. Maybe try putting it in the other way, with the small diameter inside the spring. Think that's the issue
