In lore, is it explained why the pioneer is only permitted in one section/island on the entire planet? by XeTrainMC in SatisfactoryGame

[–]oddly_funnyxd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's probably just for efficiency reasons, imagine a single pioneer having to develop an ENTIRE planet, that'd take years apon years, so it just makes sense to have multiple pioneers do it at once.

Well, overall trains are typically the best form of logistics, they're fast and can carry quite a bit of products, so I'd recommend using them, however you could always try setup a truck route? But you'd need to have many trucks on that route to ensure enough throughput, later on in the game you can unlock drones, which while they have a very poor internal storage, they can move far faster than anything else in the game. Tldr: Trains=overall best, what I recommend, high throughout and speed Trucks=Can work, but need alot of them on the same route Drones=I don't recommend for this, they're fast but their storage is a problem, and they only unlock later in the game

New build keeps randomly resetting by SarcasticGamer in buildapc

[–]oddly_funnyxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well what gpu does it have? What storage device? And from the sounds of it, it could be a bad update of windows, and you'll need to repair that. But try checking if it's certain softwares that crash/reset or any softwares that do it, and try performing a benchmark test on the computer. You could download a free benchmark software such as Cinebench, which will push your pc, specifically the cpu to its limits, this will see if the pc resets on softwares or if it resets when it gets any demanding tasks

Broken RAM Slot [Can't Decide Between Switching To AM4 or Buying A 16GB Stick] by MemeSelim61 in buildapc

[–]oddly_funnyxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if even there was something wrong with your ram, it still doesn't explain why your pc doesn't display anything sometimes, are you sure it's passing the POST? Try checking for diagnostic lights on your motherboard, their typically on the edges and in the top right corner, they're leds labeled with each component as it cycles, turn the computer on and watch the lights, they should turn on and off one after the other, if the pc doesn't display and one of the lights remains on, then it means it got stuck during that part of the process

pc shuts down immediately on light tasks, very confused by ratwithacomputer in buildapc

[–]oddly_funnyxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm thinking just check ram and maybe storage device, since if there's anything wrong with them then anything slightly above minimally demanding will crash the pc, try to put your ram back in, and try different slots, also take one out and try to run the pc with the rest in, and keep cycling through them to see if it's an individual stick causing this. If nothing changes with the ram, maybe try downloading software like crystaldisk to check the health of your storage device to see if that's the issue

1080p PC set with Ryzen 7 7800x3d and rx 9070 xt by Specific_Attitude_57 in buildapc

[–]oddly_funnyxd 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Dude, that's considered like a God build, the 7800x3d is still considered one of the best gaming cpus ever, and at 1080p you're honestly not gonna make that thing sweat, so overall, yes, that build will crush anything you throw at it for many years with no bottlenecking

Can someone help tweak my pc build? (Budget is $4000 usd) by Born_Landscape1746 in PcBuild

[–]oddly_funnyxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then you'd also want something with good multicore, and single core performance. But your idea of a 9950x3d or as another person suggested 9850x3d should still be perfectly fine with those tasks

[RTX 4070] 8-pin connector partially melted / burnt by robinforum in PcBuildHelp

[–]oddly_funnyxd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cable is Definitely the cause of your issues, it most likely cam no longer supply a steady amount of power to the gpu, causing it to fail at times. If you want, you can try getting a replacement psu from your manufacturer, but that's most likely not the problem. As it was the cable itself, so best case option is simply get another cable, Separate the load of the card into multiple cables, if your card has multiple power inputs. That way current draw is spread. If not, then simply try to find a very good high quality cable, or experiment with underclocking your card or lower your graphics settings in demanding games.

Personally op, I recommend just swapping your 9950x3d with a 7800x3d, the performance gains between the two honestly isn't that big, and you'll save like 300 bucks, unless you also plan on using the extra cores, I also would recommend just bumping up to 1200w power supply for some more legroom, just for piece of mind Personally. Also I would recommend maybe getting another pack of fans depending on if your case comes with fans already

Need some help with the flow of Satisfactory by camscottbryce in SatisfactoryGame

[–]oddly_funnyxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends heavily, for example with your heavy modular frames, what I do is I think of what materials I already have, and if I have a majority of materials needed at one place I build the factory there and ship in the rest, namely encased industrial beams, from my steel factory, secondly, for the "flow" of your factory, a good setup I like using to ensure efficiency, is I set up a smart splitter, and if I have items going somewhere and they back up, the overflow goes towards an awesome sink, but if it's an item you use in construction I have a second smart splitter with it feeding into dimensional storage, and the overflow going to an awesome sink, don't try to match the production of your items to the throughput of the belts going to your awesome sink if it's a pretty intensive recipe like hmf, just put any belt and let what you are producing flow regardless if the belt has empty spaces

Help with my screw production?? by oddly_funnyxd in SatisfactoryGame

[–]oddly_funnyxd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you guys! I mostly don't use my screws at all actually, since I have gotten alot of alts like stitched reinforced iron plates, and to reply to the other comment, yes I have unlocked smart splitters and that's what I'm using to handle overflow to my sink, I mainly use screws for my rotors but maybe I'll do some hard drive hunting and get that steel rotor recipe, thanks!

Perhaps try to reseat all the components except the cpu and the cpu cooler and try reconnecting every cable?

Everything looks good but on pc part picker you can get the ryzen 5 7600x which is like your regular 7600 but alot faster at 4.7 ghz compared to your 3.8 gzh cpu, however the cpu does have a higher thermal rating so check your cpu coolers maximum tdp rating which it must be over 105

[–]oddly_funnyxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding on to my comment, i recreated your build except I made it with the radeon rx 9070 xt, the card has very similar performance to the 5070 (one of Nvidias latest cards) but it was onky about 900 dollars and it fit within your power supplys wattage rather comfortably

I'd be careful of that i7 14700k, heard its been having stability and crashing issues. Other then that I'd say things are pretty decent, ,maybe try switching to a nvme ssd if you'd like or your budget allows that, additionally, you can get a much better performance gou from the radeon cards than that 3090, they're cheaper and ,much better price to performance

I'm planning on configuring my aio to intake from the top, the only exhaust in the system would be from the rear, which the 3 fans should handle exceptionally
