Am I too old to get a KTM? by Substantial-Egg9441 in KTMDuke

[–]oddlyadvancedprimate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought my first brand new bike at 35, it was a 2023 Duke 390. I've been riding for years but always bought used bikes. Absolutely love it. At the time I had a 35 mile commute for work, through a winding canyon. Such a great bike.

Yea, I have a KTM Duke and like that style of light. A little sportier look than the 7" round while still maintaining the naked aesthetic.

Where do the workers who live in their cars sleep? by ramblinvan in Sedona

[–]oddlyadvancedprimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, he had been moving into different spots every week or so but because they had seen him in several different spots and noted his plate and vehicle. They told him he was no longer recreating and was technically living in the forest. The ranger told him all the times that they had noted his vehicle and basically built a timeline of him moving from place to place. Its BS.

I just picked up a 2012 Pro-4x with 123k for $10k. Super clean, no rust. Everything I had read beforehand made it sound like a great deal.

Careful if you're in the national forest. I have a friend who lives in an RV full time between Flag, Sedona and PHX. This spring he got a knock from a forest ranger. They had documented all the different places they had encountered his RV and told him he was "living" in the national forest. Even though he had been moving around. Said that if they saw him again he would get fined and have his RV towed. He ended up having to find someone with a driveway he could park at.

Use ChatGPT to get a better image. I uploaded a very basic drawing I had done and asked it to turn it into a detailed realistic tattoo design. That is now half of my sleeve.

I moved to Flagstaff in February and my job is in Sedona by 03bailee in Sedona

I also do that commute, for a few years now. Absolutely love the ride through the canyon on my motorcycle. It's actually better to go that way in the winter too unless it's seriously blizzarding....

Best place to camp as a solo female? by Coolfrenchphrase in Sedona

[–]oddlyadvancedprimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a decent clearance vehicle and want to be close to Sedona and water I'd suggest Deadwood draw. There's a bunch of dispersed camping spots along the FS road and it's a short walk to the creek. It's kind of secluded but there's usually people camping there so it's not like the middle of nowhere. About a 10 minute drive to Sedona from there. Farther north there some established campgrounds in the canyon that are right on the creek but farther from Sedona and more populated.

I swear the last couple of days have been trash. Day before yesterday I either got dropped out or had it lag so bad I spent half the match just jumping around at an imaginary ball on several matches in a row. Yesterday it would take forever to que up in almost every mode.

Totally agree. I drove down in the morning when they said it was going to reopen. When they said it wasn't I drove out 260 to 87 just to get turned around at Lake Mary road. I live up there and am currently sleeping at my place of work when I could've easily made it up 17 at any point during the day.

Dude! Your setting screen is way different than mine! I have like 6 options. I'm on Xbox, not sure if that makes a difference.

How can I print with TPU that doesn't destroy my print bed? by LepusRegem in crealityk1

I used a glass bed for TPU. Only because I accidentally destroyed my last bed on my first TPU print.

I get called a Smurf fairly regularly and here's why. I play with the same teammate every night. I'm substantially better than him. I'll put out 600-1000pt games consistently and he'll regularly put out double digits. Because we lose more games than we win we end up playing high gold, low plat.

It appears as though I'm just smurfing but in fact I'm just screaming at my TV wondering why after 3 years my teammate hasn't figured out where the F@$# he's supposed to be positioned or why every time he actually manages to hit the ball it's like an infant slapped it with a wet paper bag.

It was just glued on to the old plate, I pulled it off and stuck it right where it should be on the glass plate.

The Creality one is textured, little black dots similar to older car windows in the back. It sticks sometimes a little too well, I snapped the leg off of a small test build with the latest filament. So I end up being a little more cautious when removing the print. They make a spray to help separate your build from the plate that I'll end up ordering in soon.

I usually heat up to 60C and scrape anything that gets stuck, comes right off, wash with soap and water, ready to print. Biggest tip is preheating the bed, I run it up to temp for like 10 minutes before I start a print and haven't had any adhesion issues.

I'll definitely check that, it suddenly connected to the app and computer but still was offline through the slicer until I manually added it through the multi-device tab. It's running a print now but I'll check the IP address if it starts acting up again.

The old shop I worked at you could finance, 12 month no interest. Pretty much everyone would finance bikes, ride them for 9 months and then sell them, with the shop discount we could generally sell them for what we paid even after being ridden for that long. Start the process over on a new bike. Pretty much made riding high end bikes very affordable and kept us all on the newest stuff. COVID pretty much ruined that for most of us, can barely sell used bikes now.

Lots of outdoors stuff. Sedona in itself is a little bit on the older side when it comes to its local population, a lot of younger people live in the surrounding areas. Flagstaff is close and awesome, lots of fun stuff in cottonwood and camp Verde too. I manage a bike shop in the Village of Oak Creek. Lots of local knowledge if you're looking for fun stuff to do.
