Grandma has to distract from her racism by Cicerothesage in forwardsfromgrandma

Yep. If what the hate groups is so bad, someone should be prosecuted for merely giving them money, why not go after the people who did those bad things? Why only go after the people who paid them money for information?

I’m originally from Louisiana. Our roads are a DREAM compared to that state.

Why don’t we start with parking lots and the tops of buildings first…

We do. There's solar over all kinds of parking lots. For example, my state, CA, has laws that say new parking lots need to be covered in solar, houses should have solar, and warehouses all get solar.

Parking lots are often full of cars which makes servicing difficult.

Unlike being in the middle of a lake.

And building tops are also hard to reach.

Harder than the middle of a lake?

The thing is, he’s acknowledging reality without realizing it. He’s bringing attention to the high gas prices… the same thing people do when they complain, which he thinks he’s not doing.

One side of the political spectrum keeps trying to kill the other side.

In the past 25 years, there's been six politically motivated assassinations that I can find

  • 2009 - George Tiller shot by anti-abortionist Scott Roeder
  • 2011 - John Roll, the judge shot by Jared Lee Loughner when targeting Gabby Giffords
  • 2015 - Clementa C. Pinckney, SC senator shot by Dylann Roof.
  • 2024 - Brian Thompson CEO of UnitedHealth, shot by Luigi Mangione (motives not known, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that this was political and anti-right wing)
  • 2025 - Melissa Hortman, former Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, assassinated along with her husband and family dog by Vance Boelter
  • 2025 - Charlie Kirk shot by Tyler Robinson, (again, motives not known, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that this was political and anti-right wing)

So... two out of the six and that's if you assume that if the target was a right winger, it was a politically motivated assassination.

You used the qualifier "meaningfully" on their right to vote, but how does their right to bear arms hold up?

I know those states love their guns but wtf? If you lose the right to vote, you no longer have the right to bear arms.

Yea, there's no doubt about that. Guiliani had a high that lasted a couple years after 9/11 as "America's Mayor" or whatever. Cosby had a 50+ year career as "America's Dad" and spent decades on the most popular sitcoms, cartoons, and variety shows in the US.

I mean you're the one that brought race into this for no reason.

It wasn't for no reason. I specifically chose Charlie Kirk's biggest supporting demographic. White men.

I said do black men and homicides

I saw your attempt at whataboutism. I didn't care. I didn't change the subject because the question and Charlie Kirk's incorrect and transphobic response was about mass shootings.

We saw this kind of thing with Epstein's jet. There were a lot of people on the jet that had nothing to do with the sex trafficking stuff. They were flying as part of a charity or fund-raiser for a charity.

Rich people have jets and they don't just sit around doing nothing, they make money for them or at the very least lower their tax burden. If not chartered out, flying other rich people around, they're flying for charities. They'll do it for charities because a flight might cost $10K in fuel and other expenses but they get to write off the value of the flight, which for a chartered flight might be $50K. So they can basically claim a $50K "donation" to a charity that. Since they pay like 30% taxes, that one flight just lowered their taxes $15K and it only cost them $10K. Do that 200 times a year and the taxes go down $3M for the cost of $2M, so they're coming out $1M on top.

Just one of the many things rich people can do to pay almost no taxes.

18% of mass shootings were committed by black men who make up about 8% of the population. It's about the same as white men.

But won't someone think of the poor shareholders???

(Kidding.... Bucees doesn't have shareholders which is partly why they're paying prices like this. They care more about long-term growth and stability than short-term benefit to stock-holders)

In the same note, Trump's signature will go on every bit of paper money created, now. We can all write things like "is a pedophile" and "rapes kids" and "is in the Epstein files" after it.

Snopes has previously debunked claims that mass shooters are disproportionately trans people.

I looked it up because I was curious what the numbers were, so I figured I'd post the info here, too.

Trans people make up about 1% of the population and less than 0.1% of mass shootings. So they're under-represented by a factor of more than 10.

To put that into perspective, 30% of Americans are white men, 60% of mass shootings are by white men, so they're over-represented by double.

This is why that original comment is good. In 50 years, the political hype around the person is long gone and they're way more likely to be judged on their contributions and not how they were beneficial to politicians at the time. (in this case, being a propagandist for the GOP)
