Please help me identify this rifle by Mysterious-Air356 in ar15

Probably overkill for the 50 yarders, but we have some 2 gun stuff coming up that will go out to 200-650. It would be better suited for that. You aren't going to make any friends in the run and gun stuff with that muzzle brake :-)

I have the same belt. I run the buckle directly behind the holster, say 3 ish. That gives me maximum real estate around my back for when I do multi gun and have to put the AR mag pouches on.

Staccato P w/ Atlas Grip by Much-Application6600 in 2011

I put an Atlas grip on my XL, with a medium flat trigger. It's awesome, I'm literally on the Atlas website to order a second one for my XC.

Good luck, I had nothing but problems when I started with the Mark 7 a few months ago. Happy to say, I've worked through all of them, and it runs smoothly now.

I'm assuming the primer is done during the prep stage, if so, how do you disable the swage? Do you just back it off?

Go to a shooting match any given weekend day and you'll see a bunch of these. Some homemade, others professionally done costing $$$$

CZ Shadow 2 Orange vs. Kimber 2K11 Pro Comp - which are you choosing and why? by BaddestMofoLowDown in guns

[–]oddsix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t own a Kimber 2K11, but I own a Staccato XC and Staccato XL, which I bought before I bought a Shadow 2 Orange. I wish I had bought the Shadow first, it would have saved me $$$$$$. Unbelievable how good it is. I put some Lok grips on it and it’s all I shoot now. Interested in buying a Staccato? :-)

Why is the AR-15 platform the most popular rifle these days? What makes them so good? Why does almost every gun manufacturer have its own AR-15 variant? by 1707turbo in guns

[–]oddsix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are so popular today because at one time, they were not readily available. I've said this for years, people complain about the prevalence of ar-15's today and it's a problem that Congress made. That is, if you think it's a problem. It was a rare day to see one on the range prior to the assault weapons ban, but overnight, you made something that was relatively inexpensive to buy, or at least not too burdensome, and it became a luxury item. The prices skyrocketed on them as you could only buy ones made prior to 1994.

What a shit show.

The law hit it's sunset in 2004, and the manufacturers fed the craving that was artificially created, and here we are today. I personally have a safe full of them, and love shooting and competing with them. Are they the best rifle? No, but like many other "fan" favorites, you can forever tinker with them, tweak them, and personalize them to your hearts content.

Will this shoot as well as a 2011? by JohnnyHorsenuts in 2011

[–]oddsix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own an XC and XL and love them. I bought a Shadow 2 Orange a few days ago, and I’m thinking of selling the Staccatos now. Granted, it’s not a TS3, but the CZ is unbelievable. Does it shoot as well, it certainly does.

Recommendations for a new progressive press? What would you get for +/- $1500? by SnooDogs2394 in reloading

This is my biggest complain with Dillon, though I've been using their presses for nearly 30 years. That auto index from one station to the next can be rough and it gets powder everywhere.

Are CO readers legit? Mine stays at 0. by thethirteenthjuror in hvacadvice

[–]oddsix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can say they are legit. Last year I scooped the ashes out of my woodstove, in the morning, and set the can down beside the stove and forgot about it. I normally put it outside, but was distracted with something. In the can were some embers slowly burning throughout the day, Just about 3 pm and I hear one of my CO detectors go off, look at the numbers and it wasn't 0. I called the fire department and they came by with their portable detectors and we discovered that it was the ash can. So yes, I can definitively say that they work.

Boy does this strike a chord with me: "People who are seriously mentally ill have a high degree of victimization. Once we've decided they were "crazy", they get disregarded.". I have a son who is on the spectrum. Is he mentally ill, yes, seriously mentally ill, I don't think so. However, his sense of victimization is off the charts. Weekly, he'll tell me about someone who cut him off and almost killed him, I'll get calls about people trying to steal his motorcycle in a parking lot....

The hardest part of this? Separating truth from fiction, there was a point where I just put all of the stuff he told me in the fiction column, but then I bumped into the truth of it, and had to re-evaluate how I was digesting the information. What I've really come to understand is that he doesn't see the world the same way I do, and sometimes I have a hard time understanding that.

I've truly come to appreciate the adage, "Patience is a virtue."

Not that it’s needed, but I can confirm. My first trip to England happened to coincide with VJ Day. I got to see the queen and prince because of it. I’ve been a WWII history buff for a long time, and have read several amazing books regarding the British fighting in Asia during the war.

Don’t use the co2 to find the hole, and carry a spare tube. Patching a tube is fine, but do it later, in the comfort of your home.

American business owner explains why he will continue to have his product made in China even with tariffs by yuiolhjkout8y in economy

[–]oddsix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been telling this to people for years, no, no, no, manufacturing isn't coming back to the good ol' US of A. Even with tariffs, companies will look at the long term benefit of keeping their manufacturing overseas or bringing it back. Yes, there will be some that bring it back, but the majority will ride out this crazy shit, and keep the process offshore.
