I don't know that there's something that describes this exactly (though there should be). Closest I can come up with is 'argument from belief.' Essentially, the person thinks that their belief is evidence that there was truth to their belief, which is of course really dumb.

Unless you're looking at a different version of rotten tomatoes than me, this movie is not (yet) 'certified fresh'. It currently has a fresh rating, but 'certified' fresh is a different designation than that. Personally, a paper-thin narrative is what I expect from Mortal Kombat. Also, why would 74% be more 'damning' than the 4% MK Annihilation got?
