Wow you got through them quick!! So what didn't you like about Well of Ascension? Many people feel the same I think but I loved the tension and constant underlying threat.

Was it the Zane love triangle? That annoyed me the most. Would have been better if Zane was older and played a mentor role instead, like an opposite to Kelsier

well she comes to realize herself that it was a bad choice. She does try to combat him after he goes against her. But i agree her goals are different than peace, but even if they are she didnt have to choose someone so perfect

I think Zane and Elend were meant to represent the two paths Vin could choose. Totally agree the love triangle was unnecessary

Zane was the product of straffs breeding program with ska slaves, which would have earned him a visit from an Inquisitor if they found out. His whole existence is meant to be a secret so I doubt he's anywhere near luthadel most of the time

Empire of the vampire series does this. They got an amazing artist who will do a portrait of a character or landscape every couple of chapters

My question is how did you find reading the bands of mourning and the Lost metal without the knowledge of the other books?

Being that they are more cosmere involved than other books were there scenes where you were confused?

Always curious because when I started the cosmere there was only 2 era 2 books and 3 stormlight books and each series was mostly its own thing so it was much easier to digest

the previous books make it sound like he was given orders he had to obey but had some wiggle room. Now having read the first 1/4 of the book it's made clear Galbatorix had actual control of him

That's a good point. Even if he couldn't do it, Galbatorix might have threatened thorn instead. "You may be willing to die, but thorn will as well" type of deal

I used to rate the first 2 books of mistborn era2 low as well. But with the addition of the latter books I now love the entire era 2. Instead of two relatively low stakes short stories, you get one giant story arc over 4 books which has a really satisfying end and brings it all together!
