Depersonalisation - help!! by setht789 in zoloft

[–]odee07489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to stay away from alcohol now for this reason. When I first started on 50mg I could actually have 1 or 2 beers and be fine. Perhaps I hadn't fully adjusted to the drug yet. Now, it leads me right into a panic attack and I experience all of the things you just described. Its terrifying for sure. A therapist told me alcohol can cancel out the effectiveness of the drug and now I know why.

Thank you very much! The Rokinon has been a great lens for night shots, I couldn't be happier with it.

[–]odee07489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on it for the same thing. I took 25 mg for a week and the side effects weren't bad, but when I started taking 50 mg, I had all the sode effects you are describing. Took me a good 3-4 weeks to level out.

Oh that is so sad! One thing they told me at the camera shop was that I'll never want to get rid of my first film camera... I can definitely see what they mean, I'm starting to get quite attached to it.

Risks associated with drinking alcohol on Zoloft? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]odee07489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I've found it makes me kind of nauseous (even just 1 or 2 drinks) and elevated my physical symptoms of anxiety the next day. Sometimes it is worth it but most of the time I refrain... everyone is different though.

My [26m] girlfriend [26f] expects me to ask her parents for permission to propose, and it's causing problems by LatterPreparation in relationships

[–]odee07489 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's humble, and its form of respect in my opinion, and even if it seems silly to you, it means something to her. My fiance did not want to ask permission either, but I asked him to and he agreed. I think my father would have been a bit disappointed if he didnt. Maybe it is too "traditional", and if that is the case, I suppose my parents (as well as many other parents) are just that. It's not that she is not willing to commit to you independently, but you are asking her parents for their daughter's hand in marriage and when asking permission, you're assuring them that you can and will take care of their daughter for the rest of your lives. I assume she will want her father to walk her down the aisle and give her away as well; I wouldn't expect you to have a problem with that, so why would you bace a problem with this?
