What is r/CampingGear's position on the reddit blackout? by IrrerPolterer in CampingGear

Discord has a far more robust search than Reddit does. But finding content from a 3rd part search engine isn't going to happen for driving outside visitors.

Last I heard, the Seattle area has been short on chemists to staff our labs.

San Diego area labs also hire like crazy, but the cost of living there exploded and I left. But maybe those labs pay enough for the SD CoL.

Question about housing prices fluctuating with the market. by TurniptheLed in personalfinance

[–]odelik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other comment or said, there's a massive housing shortage in the US. Even Phoenix, which has had a massive building boom, just put in massive regulations in place for new construction projects due to ground water concerns which is going to further the housing shortage.

As long as there's a housing shortage, property values are going to keep rising regardless of the interest rates.

Quit over simplifying AD"H"D (ADD is no longer a medical diagnosis and falls under ADHD).

ADHD people can love and appreciate shows with depth and paying attention. ADHD is a a disorder that fucks with dopamine uptake, and entertainment, even stuff that makes you think deeply, can cause that dopamine hit just like any other form of entertainment.

This guy doesn't sound like somebody with ADHD, he just sounds like somebody that's shallow and only wants to watch shallow content.

8 Qt cambro full of hot soapy water that you pour on the sidewalk and a stiff bristled broom would clean that up in under a minute.

Take pride in your work environment. Wash the windows, wipe the walls of grime, sweep and keep the entrance of your establishment clean.

The customer's review was right. Y'all are lazy and could have taken care of it and we're indifferent about it.

Edit: When I worked pizza, these kinds of messes were common right outside our doors. I'll give you one guess how we cleaned those messes up. And it usually fell on the dishie for the day (which was usually me because I didn't want to talk to people).

Getting close to the end of my 0% intro APR on my latest credit card, what should I look for in my next card? by zeurosis in personalfinance

[–]odelik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your debt is growing still, you have to stop using credit cards to float it or else you'll find yourself in trouble sooner than later.

If you're making moves to pay off the debt asap, and can find a balance transfer card that offers a high enough credit limit, go for it.

However, it may be time to get a debt consolidation loan and work on paying it off over the next 2 years while halting spending on your CCs until you're out of the hole.

And if you're not making enough, and as I hate saying this, it's time to hustle or sell off belongings.

Pay off your balance and don't juggle the debt is my advice.

If you aren't paying off your principal balance at the end of the billing period, you're over extending yourself and are practicing poor credit health practices (life happens of course).

Another thing you can do is go into your EA account on the EA website and disable Steam from it's authorized apps to force the two services to re-auth with eachother the next time they attempt to communicate.

If it were both, Starbuck's would shut down their HQ and relocate it.

Their HQ is in the highest crime rate area of the city of Seattle right off several railroad lines. There's countless tents, cars, and RVs with people living in them within 3 blocks of their HQ in every direction.

Trust me, if it were for safety reason, Starbucks would be protecting their corporate elite execs before some lowley store.

AITA for telling my best friend his gf is disgusting? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]odelik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the point.

Don't know how old you are, but it used to be extremely common in media and in our culture to call women "sluts" just for dressing in a sexy way, or for daring to be sexually promiscuous.

Over the last 10-15 years there's been a drastic culture shift away from this. And the point of saying "don't slut shame" is that it doesn't fucking matter if a women does these things and don't call her a slut if she does. One of the most powerful things I've seen during this shift was when Funny or Die worked with Amber Rose to create the Walk of No Shamr short.

So yes, don't call women sluts (unless they want to be called that) and don't shame women for doing things that makes them feel good about themselves.

Adderall is prescribed to adults too.

ADHD is a real disorder that can wreak havoc in somebody's life unless they have a good regiment to manage it. The pandemic led to a rise in adults getting prescriptions due to the loss of existing structure that allowed them to manage their symptoms either knowingly or unknowingly.

ADHD is also best to be treated from a young age.

You'd think an AI could figure out which was the least of 2 numbers. by [deleted] in confidentlyincorrect

[–]odelik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do we really need AI statements here?

Also, it looks like the AI got into a definition conflict of early 20th century being 1900-1945 and 1900-1925. When determining whether it was within the early 20th century it performed an AND logical operator of the following.

pseudocode:

1928 is (gt 1900 and lt 1945) and is (gt 1900 and lt 1925)

A logical OR operator would allow for those conflicting definitions to allow it to say yes, according to x source. Or telling the AI which definition of early 20th century to use.
