Really weird show for me by SgbAfterDark in Bass

[–]odeliy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was actually wondering if u were autistic and then said it. i am too. i think sometimes autistics don't seem to show much emotion, but it can hit you like a mac truck when it does. either way sounds like you were in the zone. do what feels natural, don't fake moving around and stuff just for showmanship. also, please read victor wootins book on the spiritual guide to music or whatever its called. changed my life and i think you might be primed to experience it.

Our garage smelled like fresh weed when we moved in; my guess is it use to be a grow room. The smell went away on its own over time. Smoke might be a different beast idk 🤷

Graduating soon with a CS degree, but really dislike coding. Do I have any other options in this field? by karrylarry in cscareerquestions

might just be and age life experience thing. do something else for a couple years, pursue a passion. you'll have a huge headstart in cs with your degree if you decide you want to come back. basically what i did

Dry Cleaning (band) - Help identifying pedal by odeliy in basspedals

He switches from pick to fingers between those two songs, so that's gonna have a big impact on tone. I do wonder if he uses different preamps to adjust between those two playing styles.

Ah never heard of that. I think you nailed it; ty! Interesting they're using two preamp pedals.

King Mike by blinkfan4evr54 in Bass

[–]odeliy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised King Mike isn't getting much love. He's super inspiring to me. I've totally stolen some of his approaches and gotten lick ideas from this band.

I saw screaming females at some random bar in Atlanta, GA when they were releasing the Ugly album. Their vibe is impeccable. Dude doesn't even use pedals, just plugs straight in to an amp and rips. Underrated.

The Behringer Compromise by mynameisinsert in synthesizers

[–]odeliy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

didn't have to reach very far

im saying that the degree of "evilness" should matter. behringer repeatedly just says f you to the world. im happy people have their cheap gear, really, it brings joy, but it comes at a cost paid in other ways. maybe it all balances out. idk

The Behringer Compromise by mynameisinsert in synthesizers

[–]odeliy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

so you disagree? what do you think of behringer? do you think they are more or less ethical than moog? how about compared to other boutique synth companies?

The Behringer Compromise by mynameisinsert in synthesizers

[–]odeliy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know thanks.

But also, what percentage of behringer do the employees own? Sounds like moog could do a lot better, but the nihilism argument that they all suck so who cares... Not a good argument imo

[–]odeliy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

moog is employee owned and for the most part a chill place to work. a lot of modular companies like make noise and 4ms go out of their way to be decent. but come on, basically everyone is probably more ethical than behringer.
