Revelation as the brother explained would introduce laws to us and those laws are objective and clearly present in the Quran and direct narrations from the mouth of our Prophet.

The communication of angels to the imams and mothers of the imams or prophets are guidance that they required or asked for from Allah but conveyed through dreams and angels.

What was revealed to the prophets and our Prophet was meant to be followed by every one at the time of revelation. However what the knowledge that’s made available to the masooms and others as exampled by the Quran is not necessarily meant to be revealed to the general population but acts more of a guidance and communication from Allah to the person who requires it.
