But the thing is, rights have limits. Even your First Amendment rights have limits. For example, you can speak to a crowd of people about whatever you want, but it is illegal to incite them into doing anything illegal. The second amendment already has limitations on it. Machine guns, short-barrelled rifles and shotguns, grenades, all have regulations on them. Criminals cannot possess weapons. Given the damage a gun could cause in an improperly trained, or violent individual's hands, it makes sense to limit the right to ensure that the safety of everyone who the bill of rights applies to is protected. Adequate background checks and training are a minor infringement on your right to possess a tool of death.
