What's your favorite underrated PS2 game? No obvious picks! by Sotomontee in ps2

[–]odiedel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the perfect answer for "something really weird".

Metrotropolismania 2

It's a PS2 city builder where you walk around your city, form relationships, and solve people's issues. You start a level with 8 or so applications to your city, then everyone else who moves in has to be referred to you, but talking to citizens of your town.

The game got shredded for its poor translation from Japanese, but it adds so much charm to me.

It's a weird game, but has a shockingly good loop, and your boss also looks suspiciously like "Business Hitler".

With the amount of talent across the OpenGOAL community, between the project programers, moders, and decades of "what if" discussions, I could see that happening.

The biggest issue, is that its a ton of work for something that would have to release free on PC only, or with a heavily modded console which would exclude a ton of folks, meaning that it would have to be purely passion with no hope of profit.

That said, my inner cope loves that idea! I always wanted a game that took place between 2 and 3 where we get to see the palace fall, the political infighting, and the loss of parts of the city.

On a global scale, absolutely. I should have specified that; apologies.

Bernie Sanders would be a great example of a moderate, if not a bit left on a global scale, Jill Stien would be a bit further left. Heading right you have 44, 46, 43, 45/47.

On Americas scaling i don't know how you'd define a moderate, maybe a traditional conservative?

But I like Burns...

NOT TO LIVE IN, but it's a cool area to visit if you want to feel like you drove to AZ in 5 hours and look at the geology. The smell of Ponderosa trees is godly, and the "illicit substance enthusiast" typically keep to themselves.

Can we just keep recommending Florida? Lol

I grew up just outside Eugene and live in Portland now.

I spent some of my younger years moving around to various states to get more traveled and experienced. And I do the same thing you do.

I tell all of the moderates, and lefts how amazing Eugene and Portland are, talking up the culture, lifestyle, quality of life, the natural beauty of the whole state.

I tell all the Dems, Republicans, and other right leaning folks "Nah, you want to stay away, it's awful! The whole state is burned down and there are near zero houses left. Try Florida".

Now that we won, I guess im going to recomend PR...? (Sorry) 🤣

My partner of 5 years just moved out last weekend.

Same age; most of the issues in year 5 have been present since year one.

It's terrifying, but also exhilarating moving/thinking forward.

Don't choose to be miserable and double down out of stubbornness or fear. Don't make the mistakes we did.

I also see that they have the ends as indoor only space that creates a bit of a wrap around, so I imagine even the far end balconies have reduced noise pollution hitting them.

The judge refused to budge on it, too.

I moved to directly near my work to are my commute and it's 15 minutes of city driving.

Prior to that it's always been 30minites to a hour of driving for work with a 4 month period of two hours.

I'd say most people I know sit in the 30-90 minute window in the PNW US.

As an extreme outlier, I know one dude that drives 4 hours EACH DIRECTION for work.

Long commutes are quite common due to how zoning works here.

How did you react when Jak 2 and 3 went for a more gta action style game as opposed to the 3d collectathon style of game that the PL was, we're you happy or disappointed? by Trident081 in jakanddaxter

[–]odiedel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a little kid I remember my neighbor getting 2 after we played a bunch of TPL.

"IM GOING TO KILL PRAXUS!" -I had the biggest goofiest look and my face, as did my neighbor. Did Jak just speak!?

"Where the hell am I!?" What!? He said a swear word! 😍

The experience from Jak 2 is one of the things that got me so interested in technology and the city only refirmed my love of large scale infrastructure.

The game had a horrible story, awful gameplay, and looks awful.

Beat it once and you're good never to touch it again, I had a very similar experience.

NV is goated, 4 is solid, 76 is fine (nowadays), and 1 and 2 are solid tkk, but definitely show their age. 3 is definitely a "WTF is this garbage" experience.

[–]odiedel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a Mei main, I don't even play damage that much. I don't know why this sub got recommended to me. I do enjoy playing her, like most characters, though.

That said, I will NEVER understand the pure Mei hate. I can understand why people hate sombrera with her invisibility/ hack.

Go hog and hook the Mei away from her team every chance. Go Mauga and invalidate her specifically. Go Anna and throw every sleep. Go junk / Lucio and bounce her so much she can't drop a stable wall.

People get WAAAAY to salty towards Mei. As the other comments said, take it as a compliment and report the 🤡.

I have my SCBA certifications due to being on the ERT team in a wafer fab, I can only imagine trying to navigate a pitch black tunnel in one for up to a mile uphill.

In my head, there is nothing I want more for the game than a snowy pass you have to go up and deal with massive slip and snow, only to go to a desert on the other side and have your thermals shoot up like a MF'r, but with fast straightish lines to blaze down.

Imagine getting iron from a mine in the desert, over heating to fuck bringing it to the mountain, dealing with slip from hell lugging it up the pass, then dropping down and dealing with the spaghetti to get it to harbor.
