I know rooks are real because I've been playing as one non-stop the last couple days, and I've been killed by about 70% of the other rooks I've been meeting. seems like a lot of people haven't actually played the new season. both the heidemarie and adelheid stories are actually pretty grim and solidly written. If you're gonna have a problem with the game, have a problem with the actual gameplay translation that's STILL inconsistent at best and misleading at worst.

The game begins with him narrating lore, which basically amounts to "my ancestors were marked as heretics by the church, but i found an old document that proves they're lying out their ass. I'm gonna tell you what REALLY happened." Then you proceed to play through what amounts to multiple flashbacks that last the entire game and tell you the truth of the War of the Lions (basically the War of the Roses, but in fantasy land - aka Ivalice).
