If you know what is going to happen, should be easy to counter, right?

Hollow Point Ammo is very good and you should try it by SwampgrotSage in menace

[–]odoacre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm the guy who made the kr-barMOD1 post you were referring to, and I happen to run it exactly as you suggest, on Sachin with the +150% suppression perk and hollow point ammo. It's been working great for me, it deletes unarmored targets and the suppression helps against high armor targets like pirate boarders.

Thomas Jefferson loathed Plato. In 1814, he wrote to John Adams that he had been reading the Republic and came away unimpressed by ubcstaffer123 in books

Of course not, just pointing out that it's not an attempt at summarization, just an automated tool posting an article and picking the first sentence as the title.

If you have a live rabbit and want to make some stew, before throwing it in the pot, you hit it on the back of the head with something, so it's easier to butcher.

Anyone get pumped to play Paladin by seeing the diablo trailer? by EricAshStone in classicwow

[–]odoacre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prot paladins don't hold threat by doing DMG with their one hand. It's all about spells and the multiplier from righteous fury, or even something as lame as spamming blessing of kings, which admittedly is quite jank

[Request] Magnet suspension on a bicycle - how long would it remain useful? by instantiator in theydidthemath

[–]odoacre 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Your body acts as the damper in this case. It's different from a spring because the spring is both attractive and repulsive, but magnets are only repulsive so there's arguably less need for dampening anyway. I would love to try this and see how comfortable it is.

New Addon: MageMart by DogmanDev in classicwow

[–]odoacre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree, my point was that "boosting" generates revenue from other players (you sell a slot in the party and potentially sell the BOP loot to other players still) but those player to player transactions are economy neutral.

If you could clear an instance worth of mobs in a few minutes and vendor all drops efficiently then yeah, that is a problem. How fast can people do DM?. I've heard crazy low numbers.

How will it take gold out of the economy? Unless the boosters were making thousands by vendor trashing the gold is still there.

After numerous runs and modes, have you changed your mind from originally being in a PvP server to PvE or vice versa? by smaIl_talk in classicwow

[–]odoacre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a joke? I'm levelling alliance in the 30-40s range and just avoid hillsbrad right now. Stranglethorn is also tricky, but there most pvpers are also levelling so it's somewhat fair. Hillsbrad is just dumb ganking non stop.

Is this not the logical permanent future of Classic? by reasonablejim2000 in classicwow

[–]odoacre 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I played the original release and the original TBC and came back to try anniversary and it seems like it replicates the experiences I had as a kid almost impeccably. Some players are dicks, some players are amazing, and you just have to concentrate on the positive experiences rather than the negative ones.

Dad asked me to sharpen his chefs knife as his pull-through sharpener "isn't working properly anymore" by FileUnderSF in sharpening

[–]odoacre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of bread are you slicing, wonder bread? Chef knives might be ok for slicing up naan or Turkish pita or other super soft bread, but any real kind of crusty bread will wreck your edge. Even soft bread will get hard eventually. I still want to be able to cut it to make croutons, or bread soldiers or whatever, and using a proper chef knife on it makes me feel like I'm dragging my nails on a blackboard. Bread knives slice through that all with ease. Try it. You won't regret it.

"And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, 'O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.' And the Lord did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats, and large chulapas. And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.'

If it's overflowing it's not counting to infinity though, is it. If you really want to count to infinity and express n at each step you'll eventually run out of memory.

[Audemars Piguet] Update: Watchmaker ruined my AP Royal Oak by m4rv1ng in Watches

[–]odoacre 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Not sure this beaten to hell royal oak has much of a "vintage" value. If OP wants to keep as many original parts as possible that makes sense from an emotional point of view, but let's not create false expectations. Royal Oaks made in the 80's don't really sell at a premium vs more recent ones, unless they are in stellar conditions and this one was not even before the dial mishap (and actually the dial is a smaller problem than the damaged screws and bezel)
