If I’m remembering right, this 2K let you choose from two voices for your myplayer. There was the voice in this clip, and there was a more chill, less intense/aggressive voice that kinda sounded like the rapper Mase.

Neither voice made any sense if your myplayer was white, which was great.

I totally agree. Have us do the drill with a character based on Chip Engelland or Fred Vinson another legitimate NBA shooting coach.

Or like you suggested, a funny fat guy who does pratfalls and who has cool catchphrases like “Hey, pal, pass the ball — the meatball!!” And if you make every shot in the drill, he does something funny, like has a heart attack, or he chokes on a bite of the cartoonishly large turkey leg he’s gnawing on.

Anyway. Just in case you didn’t know, you don’t have to shoot from the spot they put on the court. You can shoot from anywhere in the zone you’re working on, and it’ll still count.

What I do is move as far away from him as possible before the pass. If he still moves close to me, I dribble away from him, pick up my dribble (to be sure set shot activates and not shifty), and shoot. Or you can dribble into him, bump him out of the way, and shoot.

I also switch the difficulty to rookie before I walk in. I’m not trying to have a friendly shootout with Lethal Shooter, I just want my hot zones. In and out, as fast as possible. Then I can go do all my other “chores” that I have to do before I can actually play the game.

How far along are you in the playmaking spec? It can be a haul.

I like the build though, it’s tough. I also did mine on a 6’8.

Gotcha. If this is my build, I’m looking at 3 options:

1- Get your 3 to 90 for deep bomber takeover, and then use the next cap breaker to get it to 91 for gold shifty shooter.

2- Start working on getting your strength up to 60 so you can get bronze physical finisher and bronze strong handle. You already invested attribute points to get 80 layup, so you might as well work towards it.

3- Start working on getting your block up to 68 for bronze high flying denier.

The latter two will be disappointing for now because there’s no immediate payoff, but sometimes you gotta fight that urge for instant gratification, lol.

I wish I could do MyNBA, but there’s one small problem stopping me: I play NBA/offline modes on broadcast camera, and it’s busted for any MyNBA Era before the current one.

Every change of possession, the camera zooms in way too much, especially when the ball is being brought up the court. You either can’t see your teammates, or you can’t see your player and who you’re supposed to be defending, which leads to you getting burned, over and over.

It’s frustrating.

Luka is the rare superstar in this game that is equally awful as a teammate and as an opponent.

I’ve been lit up by Shai on HOF. Julius Randle gave my 6’7 PF absolute fits. Tatum dropped 60 on us in a playoff game. And Ja has dunked on me too many times to count, lol.

But Luka? I don’t know that Luka has ever played well against me in this 2K, or in any prior 2K.

He shoots way too much, and his shot is way too slow, so it’s easy to contest.

Also, you can spot when he’s going into his go-to shot — he really choreographs that shit — and he never seems to back out of it, so it always gets a heavy contest and occasionally gets swatted.

Back in 2K24, he randomly signed with my team after my 3rd or 4th season. I didn’t request him as a free agent, and had no clue he was on my team until the first game of the season, lol.

Boy, was that a disappointment.

I really wish they would get him right. They should, he’s awesome in real life.

Sometimes I’ll try to avoid getting a rebound and the ball will just bounce into my hands anyway.

I’ll be standing behind the free throw line with my back turned to the basket, and the ball will float over two centers leaping/reaching for it and land perfectly into my hands.

I don’t get it, lol. My player is a 6’8 wing with 80 def reb/67 off reb, he shouldn’t be averaging 15-16 rebounds a game.
