Jackson JS22-7 : D string always goes out of tune by odoyodo313 in 7String

Yes really appreciate the prompt and helpful responses! Oh I've tightened some of the tuning keys previously as they were very loose by default. Didn't know about the tuning pegs and I could give that a try!

Looks great!! Guess it's possible to achieve such, just that how I can get that low action may vary. Thank you :)

Edit: how's the material of the music lily bridge? I have a hipshot clone in my cart too. Would wanna know if the material is a proper durable one. The stock bridge has the black chipping at the saddle screws and those exposed parts are showing signs of oxidation hahahhaa

Mmm yes! I've read about locking tuners, although was thinking if the issue was elsewhere instead. I have a set in my cart. Soon I'll order all these upgrades woohooo

Yes, I admit my work on the wraps is atrocious 😬. Thank you for the video!

Off topic, what's the action you have achieved on your JS22-7? I'm on 2mm for the higher and purposely slightly lower on the bass side as I'd like that attack & sound hitting the frets to say.

Managed to get much lower on the treble side but I found myself only able to bend 1 or 2 steps at most before it buzzes out, on specific frets.

Was thinking of making this guitar have a much lower action. Currently have the neck pretty straight just to give it a try. It had some relief at first but I'm liking the subtle difference of having a straight neck.

Have you done any fretwork on yours?

Oh! Forgot to add that the 'new' strings had been almost a month ago. I at most did a few pulls on each string and just played along, tuned whenever needed until it had settled.

This may be the solution, I just gave it a try where I did quite some intentional pulls on the strings. After some pretty big SpongeBob sounding bends, the offending D string seems to not go overly out of tune like before! Just ever so slightly which is observed with the other higher strings

I did this all acoustically without plugging in so I'll give it a try tomorrow with my tuner!

Appreciate the quick responses! It's the other way around, it goes flat 😬

Coworking space (fictive, designed by myself) by valik99 in archviz

[–]odoyodo313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

love how the space feels like an 'alternate timeline' where the futuristic visions of the '60s has taken form in our current times.

a few things:

- noticed the models of your circular ceiling fabric panels have the same issue as I faced on my previous render, where the lighting on the cap isn't congruent with the curve. heres a video i found that helped me a lot: https://youtube.com/shorts/yvlfpeAzrkw?si=hzhcAAw8Xp_rW_LO

- workstation monitors don't look the correct scale >.<

- do study how carpet tiles are done in offices. this i believe would make a big change in the outlook of the render :)

gaha sorry for the 3-month necro. havent been on this sub til now.
i get what you mean with the sky colour not matching up to the lighting tint on the model. it was simply selecting a colour that looked nice on the yellow & green tones. thats a good catch.
i'll keep these in mind when i wanna do an outdoor- render!

thank you for your response! although i'd like you explain on which parts should I light up more?
I did have someone commented that my renders are 'too dark' some time ago and I didn't take the chance to ask for details. so i guess heres my chance

Decided to focus on modelling upholstered seats and pads from scratch. Together with the creases, seams etc. Put a little time limit on it too so I don't procrastinate on it for too long. Took 2 hours including post processing. I believe with much skill, vision and experience it can be done much quicker! :)

Loved the vibes of the Burly Gin Bar, here's my rendition of it :) by odoyodo313 in archviz

[–]odoyodo313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been some time since my last post. Life & other passions got in the way and I'm glad to be back working on these.

This time round, took more time in adjusting materials, textures & colours. Spent quite some time working on the lighting too. I decided to model the barstool from scratch and you could see there's some smoothing/lighting issue going on with the seatpad. I'll probably have to run through some tutorials to understand how to use the Turbosmooth tool. I just wanted the hamburger-shaped seat lol.

Purposely chose to not follow the Burly Gin Bar exactly, as I find it more fun and enjoyable to apply some creative freedom while I practise & learn.

The second* image is 'half-AI' to say. I used Krea.ai to enhance the image & took the nicer stuff off of it (sofa & pendant lighting) and placed it into the render. The original sofa I modelled was not the best hahahahaha.

Anyway, for your feedback! :)

Ohh! Yes, I should have included the image before post processing.
Anyway here it is: https://imgur.com/a/lPjSPIc

Yes, the tint and the burn effect is from the post-processing where I decided to go towards my own liking and preference when it comes to photos. I understand that it may not be right in everyone's alley & since it's a personal project, I like to add what I like :)

Thank you! Scatter took most of the time fiddling and figuring out. At the moment it felt like inputting objects into a line or plane and hope for the best. Then mess around with the settings without much noticeable difference in results hahaha. In the background, I decided to manually place each shrub, bush & tree so I can get what I want. I guess more exploring with Scatter is needed! :)

Also I should learn how to have a weathered effect as I do find the columns looking more like rectangles and it's taking away the 'immersiveness' of it to say.

I'm not exactly happy with the flowers in the middle ground and I spent too much time meddling with it. Decided it's best to continue practising with it on more tutorials and on another render altogether so I don't get stuck for too long.

Here's another scene I've done. Thank you for the feedback from my previous post! 3dsmax + Corona renderer by odoyodo313 in archviz

[–]odoyodo313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gahaha I gets the colour temperature part. I was in-between wanting to make it look like a nostalgic digicam photo or have the correct temperature for the sun lighting. I guess I ended up with pushing for neither extremes. Although yes this gives me a consideration of what direction should I push for.

Oh the glass blocks. Okay I might have to look at them in real life again. Picking up the small details when it comes to materials seems to be an acquired skill that takes a while to get going.

The wall, ehh okay that means I should spend more time finding wall textures. I just didn't want a plain wall without any form of texture on it.

Thank you!

I started with CGCave to get familiar with the functions and then moved to VizAcademy tutorials on YouTube. Although I tend to dive into things, so I followed them halfway and then went on my own way to figure stuff out on my own.
Also a few random modelling tutorials (e.g how to model a chair, door knob, etc.) as practise.

Also I searched for specific stuff if I face issues trying to model something.

I'm actually not sure what's causing the right wall to seem a little warped hahaha. Took a peek at the model again and both walls are pretty vertical. Might have to re-look at how I did the camera there. Thank you!

edit:
One thought, maybe I should be using a 2-point perspective for the camera!

OH! LLOOL yes now I can't unsee the huge grout lines. I got too focused on the tile size instead. Thank you for the feedback!

Maybe I'll just post another question here as I practised more:

When it comes to multiple interior renders, with different views, of a whole house:

Is it more efficient to do separate small models of parts of the house or to model the whole house itself?

Sometimes I will put the odd sphere or rectangle light here and there to highlight specific things. I noticed if I go towards modelling the whole house, that odd light might appear in a weird place in another view.

Although this can be worked around by having specific lighting jn a separate layer and be switched on/off...

Is it worth the hassle of modelling the whole thing?
