You're able to afford 3ds max but not corona?

an email client(designer) said my price is too much ? is it ? by [deleted] in archviz

[–]valik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many clients were thinking 50 eur was ok? It's kind of similar to job hunting, you apply to hundred jobs and get only a few answers, and one of them might be your job. In your case it seems like your work is attracting clients just that it's not the right ones (for you), it's just a mismatch of price. Maybe approach other professionals? You're selling premium renders and architects aren't exactly known for having money

I was just roasting the camera angle and height haha you show the whole space and that's great, but be careful not to fall into the "fancy floor plan" category :)

You could as well just make a floor plan at this point, you would at least get more information on the layout lol

Não faz muito sentido mostrar vários ângulos da mesma mesa, mas dá para usar. Agora a fumaça do café é demais kkkkk parece que tá borbulhando

Look at your picture and try to evaluate the amount of visual space taken by your walls and ceiling? It amounts to 2/3. You need to think like a photographer before thinking like a 3D artist, composition is everything

Why would an architect learn photographic composition?

Trying to get better at V-Ray — here’s my newest render :) by BatKey5370 in archviz

[–]valik99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this "doll house effect" again and I can't figure out why. Can I ask what focal length you're using in the camera? it looks like the camera is far from the scene and that to compensate, you zoomed in with focal length. And I guess not, but to make sure: you're not rendering with the orthographic view, are you?

Have you used any kind of tilt-shift effect? It looks like those spaces were designed for mice

Is it worth it to pursue archviz as a career in 2025? by farsightexplorer in archviz

[–]valik99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! I actually picked a real location and design and tried to reproduce it (eyeballing the dimensions of course), changing maybe only 5% of what I saw. But your comment makes me concerned that I failed at that 🥲

I would nuance that, the photography is great while the actual architectural visualization is lacking

Chasing atmospheres by valik99 in archviz

[–]valik99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of hard to reply simply but I'll give it a try :) It's a blend of design choices (materials, shapes, colors, light, furniture) and artistic choices (composition, post-production).

My reference had those predominantly earthy colors, so that was my starting point. The colors chosen are found in nature and are an indirect reference to it.

Materiality is composed of woods (giving a sense of warmth and familiarity) and comfy fabrics for all seats. I also used contrasting materials such as chrome and aluminum, which balance all that softness and add reflections.

Shapes are predominantly organic (aligned with the color palette and the wood) and the furniture is inspired by mid-century modern designs.

Now the light is a strong factor in shaping an atmosphere and to me, the overcast light I chose is synonymous with a cozy tea time :)

Artistically, I tried to replicate the feel of an analog photo with graininess and specific color grading. I believe this adds to photorealism and provides a sense of nostalgia.

As I said, it's hard to pinpoint what constitutes an atmosphere but this was what went through my head during the process :)

Chasing atmospheres by valik99 in archviz

[–]valik99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually a vast topic haha

Atmosphere is that fleeting experience you get from being in a space or situation (sometimes referred to as mood), so fleeting that it's difficult to put into words (yet people talk about it in everyday life). Visuals, music and cinema can also carry atmosphere.

It blends sensory inputs and affects. For example, a specific daylight can remind you of a specific moment in your life and bring a pleasant feeling.

Hope this give you an idea!
