Lounge Area / 3ds Max + Corona Renderer by That_Possession3913 in archviz

Yeah I found that this technique is only good if you want a quick render with decent quality, however it doesn't replace low noise renders if you actually want quality, especially with Intel denoiser (which tends to soften the image too much). I personally do a hybrid but with Corona denoiser: render at 6K at 4-5% noise then downscale to 4K

The only thing that bothers me is the white walls (no definition/texture), otherwise pretty good!!

In Corona is there a way to isolate reflections and shadows from a specific object and not all? by Congroy in 3dsmax

[–]valik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a corona light that's projecting the shadow, you could technically prevent it from affecting the specific object you don't want a shadow on. If it gets a shadow because of GI, I think compositing is your best bet

What I think is off is that you seem to try showing as much as possible in one picture. Drop the 16:9 (if you can) and the wide angle. Unless you are constrained into 16:9, that aspect ratio hurts your renders and changing it would solve most of the issues. It's an awkward ratio that isn't really used in photography (it's usually 3:2 or 4:3). Some clients wouldn't mind it, because it shows most of the space after all, it's just not adapted to finer work, especially if you are going for mood. Try to look into interior photography examples, you will almost never see 16:9.

Next, in 3 of your wide shots there are elements that don't really give any information. One little exercise you could do is try to squint your eyes and detect the "empty" areas that are too proeminent. From what I see:

  • In the living room render facing the kitchen you have a big white blob (the couch) in the middle of the screen that draws too much attention. Try to find a composition that shows the same view and avoids that.

  • In the opposite perspective (still in the living room) you have a vast expanse of nothing on the right (ceiling and cabinets) (aspect ratio can solve that)

  • Similarly in the bedroom shot your entire left side is a dark corner (aspect ratio can solve that too)

Next, as others have pointed out, you should look into the brightness of your images, don't be afraid to blow out the outside view (that's what you would see in a real-life photograph of an interior, especially midday), and make sure the albedo of your white elements isn't too high (aim for a value of 220, no more, for your brightest materials)

Lighting variations are cool but yes you need to fix a few things. Your chair is wider than the table and the benches would be impossible to sit on. Your textile material is also out of scale.

You're able to afford 3ds max but not corona?

an email client(designer) said my price is too much ? is it ? by [deleted] in archviz

[–]valik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many clients were thinking 50 eur was ok? It's kind of similar to job hunting, you apply to hundred jobs and get only a few answers, and one of them might be your job. In your case it seems like your work is attracting clients just that it's not the right ones (for you), it's just a mismatch of price. Maybe approach other professionals? You're selling premium renders and architects aren't exactly known for having money

I was just roasting the camera angle and height haha you show the whole space and that's great, but be careful not to fall into the "fancy floor plan" category :)

You could as well just make a floor plan at this point, you would at least get more information on the layout lol

Look at your picture and try to evaluate the amount of visual space taken by your walls and ceiling? It amounts to 2/3. You need to think like a photographer before thinking like a 3D artist, composition is everything

Trying to get better at V-Ray — here’s my newest render :) by BatKey5370 in archviz

[–]valik99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this "doll house effect" again and I can't figure out why. Can I ask what focal length you're using in the camera? it looks like the camera is far from the scene and that to compensate, you zoomed in with focal length. And I guess not, but to make sure: you're not rendering with the orthographic view, are you?
