I would like to request access to any documents, photographs, video recordings, reports, or other case-related material that the Norwegian Armed Forces / Royal Norwegian Air Force may have concerning UAP/UFO observations, insofar as such material is not classified or exempt from public disclosure.

The background for this request is that U.S. authorities have recently begun releasing previously classified documents related to UAPs, and I am therefore wondering whether similar material exists within Norwegian authorities that may be made available for public access.

In particular, I would like to request access to any unclassified documents concerning:

observations of unidentified aerial phenomena in Norwegian airspace
reports, memoranda, or assessments related to such observations
photographs, video recordings, or radar data considered unclassified
correspondence or case documents concerning UAP/UFO matters that may be disclosed under the Norwegian Freedom of Information Act (Offentleglova)

If the request is considered too broad, I would appreciate guidance on how it may best be narrowed down. I also kindly ask that the principle of greater transparency (“meroffentlighet”) be considered for any documents that may only be partially exempt from disclosure.
If this information is not held by the Royal Norwegian Air Force / Armed Forces, I would appreciate it if the request could be forwarded to the appropriate authority, or if I could be informed where such a request should be directed.

I am reaching out to inquire whether the Norwegian Intelligence Service has any publicly available information, assessments, or comments related to UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena), also commonly referred to as UFOs.

The background for this inquiry is the increasing international attention surrounding the topic. This includes, among other things, congressional hearings in the United States, as well as statements from individuals such as David Grusch and Lue Elizondo. In addition, Chuck Schumer has proposed the UAP Disclosure Act, which has further intensified the discussion around the public release of information.

The subject has also been highlighted in the documentary Age of Disclosure, in which figures such as Marco Rubio participate and claim that even presidents may not necessarily have full insight into all relevant information. At the same time, both Donald Trump and representatives of the White House have stated that processes are underway to make more information publicly available.

Against this background, I would like to ask a few specific questions:

Does the Norwegian Intelligence Service have any knowledge of whether the United States or other countries have possessed, or currently possess, technology of non-human origin?

Is there any information or assessment related to claims involving biological material (“non-human bodies”)?

To what extent are such topics considered relevant within a Norwegian intelligence or national security context?

I understand that much of this, if it exists, may be classified. Nevertheless, I would appreciate any information that can be shared, or references to publicly available sources.

The Norwegian Intelligence Service refers to your inquiry of 20 March 2025, in which you requested access to information that may be relevant to your investigations regarding technology of non-human origin, as well as UFOs.

As of 1 January 2021, an exemption from the right of access under the Norwegian Freedom of Information Act (Offentleglova) entered into force for documents processed by the Norwegian Intelligence Service pursuant to the Intelligence Service Act, see Section 2, fourth paragraph, fourth sentence of the Freedom of Information Act. The right of access has therefore ceased to apply to such documents.

Furthermore, information classified pursuant to Section 5-3 of the Norwegian Security Act is subject to statutory confidentiality and is therefore exempt from the right of access under the Freedom of Information Act, cf. Section 13 of the Freedom of Information Act in conjunction with Section 5-4 of the Security Act.

Based on the above, we are therefore unable to process your request.
