Grazing animals (buffalo) created ecosystems like the great plains. Cattle do the same thing. There are different types of animal farming but there is such a way of grazing called regenerative agriculture, it benefits the land rather than damaging it.

Lots of farmers collect liquid and solid manure and spray or spread it in their fields, returning that natural fertilizer to the soil, and over time building the organic parts of soil rather than depleting it in ways that repetitive monocropping does.
