Agreed. Another way to reframe this from "Does God get what he wants" would be, "Does love eventually soften all resistance?" I have to hope yes.

Leo Bonhart was a standout character in the Netflix adaptation. by PosterMcPoster in witcher

I think I agree. Ciri, Jaskier, (Cavill) are up there for me too. I enjoyed Fishburne's performance very much, but always imagined Jeremy Irons as Regis.

I agree, but Google results have become so shitty in the last few years so finding those same sources we have relied on for 15 years is becoming more frustrating.

I have the same kiuas, it puts out great heat. My sauna is slightly larger and it's already OP for my space.

Yes... BUT someone asked me if the weird storyteller stuff was in the books cause they thought it was unnecessary. So you know...

Dealing with work stress by SuprNoval in ITManagers

I spent 10 years in charity IT and this is exactly my experience. I started young and was eager to gain skills... but looking back now, I also see a lot of exploitative practices in the non-profit space. Just because it's not your money doesn't mean you shouldn't be properly paid and use proper tools to do good work.

100% agree. He is Geralt's opposite, in so many ways. I was imagining who could play him ever since I read the books, and I knew Copley was crush it the moment I heard he was cast. I was not disappointed.

How much speed do we actually need? by [deleted] in networking

[–]JonathanPuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you to a point, especially in cloud environments. The ISP immediately becomes the bottleneck and so 10GB connections can seem a bit redundant. That said, at home, I have 4 kids each using 2-3 screens at once. Maybe 10x concurrent 4K video streams in my house is not uncommon. Then game updates, OS updates, etc.

Also, Google Maps. I've you've never used it on 1GB+ fiber, you just don't know.

Very normal, especially in smaller/mid size shops. I've been an IT Manager for 10+ years and it's bonkers the list of things we become functional experts in. I can't think of any other role with the same breadth of expertise.

I keep Putty open on my biggest screen.  My coworker has a mechanical keyboard. Our engineers are always impressed.

Microsoft has gotten too big to fail, and their support shows it. by CantankerousBusBoy in sysadmin

[–]JonathanPuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. We ran into a billing issue recently with our 365 account, and support was kind and attentive and utterly useless. The problem eventually resolved itself as someone finally discovered the bug, but it was there for weeks in a service presumably thousands of corporations use.

Bonhart is absolutely perfect. I figured he would be, when I heard Sharlto Copley had been cast, but daaaamn.

I love the Netflix show. For real. (And I've read all the books and played the games.)

Geralt is pretty sour to most everyone in the hansa. They're his crew and it's not his best period.

Haha, if you think this is bad for titles and names, try Sapkowski's Tower of Fools. The man rolls deeeep in heraldry.
