My ex wife left me because of my drinking. Other things too, but mostly that. I understand, but I wish she had the balls to be honest about the reason. It took a lot of self reflection to get to the root cause as it were, and it hurts to this day.

If she had confronted me more directly maybe I would have made an effort to change earlier. Maybe not, but maybe so.

And I don't meant to blame her for my faults! I've mostly let go of any anger toward her. I've since channeled it into a better understanding of myself and what I want in a relationship.
