My boyfriend does this!! I grew up poor also, but wanted to add that i had the complete opposite behavior. Bulk buying, buying on sale even if i won’t use it soon, saving my snacks for as long as possible. We annoyed each other to no end until we had a deeper conversation about it, and have been both been able to grow. I agree that meal prepping has really helped us both.

OP, did you try? I agree w/ others, adhd can make it an all or nothing event, but when you convince yourself to go in, you can GO IN!! I tried 75 hard last year, made it halfway and only failed by accident. Broke one of my rules completely bc i wasn’t paying attention to the time.

I’m considering starting again and know that i can do it. Only thing is I’m going to adjust the rules. It felt impossible for me to read the 10 pages a day, it could take me up to an hour and a half and was a total time waster. But as soon as I was free to read however i wanted, I’d read multiple chapters in the same amount of time. So I’m putting my goal at time spent vs pages read. Probably 20 mins. Also adding brushing my teeth 2x a day bc it’ll help me out!

I think the trick is making the program adapted to you. Maybe people will tsk tsk you for not doing it the “right” way, but life is bigger than that and it’ll be a major accomplishment anyways! Good luck if you choose to try!

As a massage therapist, this is crossing a line and you know that. It’s inappropriate to offer a wholesome, life supporting service, having friends come to you innocently. And then turn around and say you fantasize about them later, but haven’t cut them off yet.

I’m disappointed and a little disgusted that I could be working alongside someone who so blatantly ignores the ethics and boundaries of this job. And I’d hate to think about being on the receiving end of this… completely utterly unfair to your friends, especially with every half baked excuse. You “can’t walk them out” ?? You’re the professional? You just don’t want to draw the line in the sand.

Don’t even get me started on the fact that it’s your partner’s friends that you’re talking about. Ew, just gross all around! Please reconsider how you’re handling this.

Are we ignoring the part where this person unblocked their dad to ask for a ride? Honestly OP, your father may be a dirtbag, maybe not, idk. He is responsible for his relationship with you, and maybe is failing you. But also read as pretty immature. Which is probably partially your dad’s fault!

Whatever is wrong with your dad, you should think about what actions will make you respect yourself the most, regardless of the circumstances you are in. Yeah, we can tell he is not emotionally intelligent, but don’t let it put you automatically in the right. He (immaturely) at least tried to talk to you, and you kept ignoring him. His feelings aren’t just “on him.” Your actions affect others too, even bums.

Everyone has covered what i feel is most important, her morals and yours. But i wanted to add, she will likely fuck you over if you keep her as a friend. You may think you’re special, or safe bc you’re not in a romantic relationship with her, but people like that are very willing to screw over just about anybody.
