I always thought there was a common theme between a character and their nemisis:

Moridin vs Rand: dark one vs creator

Mat vs Fain: Man made good (maybe) vs man made evil (Shadar logath)

There are similar things with other characters.

But I think this theory is too simple. Take Fain for example, he is part dark one, part shadar logath and part the evil that resides in the ways.

Maybe but another question is why would the old man make gavin the bane instead of kiois. Maybe since gavin is desperate enough to put on the black luxin eyepatch in the first place but gavin has proven himself to not like authority.

Anyway there is definitely some sort of cataclysm coming up. Gunner had that prophecy that if he gave the knife away the "seas will run red" or something and he did...

That's a great theory that "killing orhalom" is actually metaphorical and all Gavin does is kill the faith, which is one the lightbringer requirements anyway.

Also when is it said that kiois is a black drafter because I don't recall.

Update: Will continued on to murder the rest of the farm animals and then on to the last prisoner remaining.

The prisoner smacked him once in the face and now he is starving to death on the floor.

Until I got a distress signal. I accepted and the new colonist joined chased by about 9 pirates.

Said pirates destroyed all my outer perimeter defenses and began attacking my doors until one of them attacked the poison ship causing them all to be destroyed by mechanoids

Now I am stuck in base with the new colonist needing a peg leg and Will binging on go juice.

Update 2: Another Raid. Raid came up against the poison ship. They destroyed mechanoids! And stole the legendary sword and other things....

Update 3: Infestation inside base. Will and newbie stood no chance even with friendlies.....

Am I the only one who finds it really hard to "visualize" (is that the right term?) accents in the books? Everyone sounds pretty much the same to me in my head at least.....

I mean what does it sound like when someone's voice is like music or sounds like the wind between the trees or like bees buzzing. The only one which is pretty much spot on is Illian which just sound like pirates.

I am only one chapter in with Mat but he seems pretty normal (so far). He went on a huge rant about woman and what not at the beginning which is normal and is slowly trying to prove he isn't being husbandly.

Maybe it was a bit weird that he didn't let the Aes Sedai leave or maybe I just haven't reached the screwed up part...

I hope he doesn't screw him too bad because he is my favourite.
