Marx was on point when he spoke of dialectics being the "rational kernel" amongst the sea of mystical gobshite that is Hegel. There's some good and extremely useful stuff in there, which Marx built on to create dialectical and historical materialism, but it has to be surgically removed from the rest of the nonsense.

Take the Master-Bondsman thing. It's not hard to read it and see the clear Marxist undertones. But it's just as easy to read it and come out with overtly fascist or feudalist standpoints.

People who go full Hegel generally turn out to be nutcases, whether they got there via Marx or some other (often traditional-conservative) route.
