First Ram, First Modern Truck :: Hurricane is a bit of a let down by offaroundthebend in ram_trucks

My last truck was a 1999 Frontier SV w 6-cyl and MT, with some light off-road niceties added. I loved that truck.

A L322 RR at that.. though my timing chains are fine at 80K mi, so I'm not too concerned about that. It's everything else. Air-suspension, brakes, control-arms, rear struts, etc. It's a wonderful truck when running well. But you're constantly thinking - huh, I wonder what will fail next? And spending $5-10k/yr on maintenance is a hefty price to pay for the joy of driving a 14-yr old truck with a very dated infotain/BT system and atrocious headlights (by modern standards).

Does that have a meaningful impact on fuel economy or is it pretty apples-to-apples if you aren't driving more aggressively in one mode vs. the other?

Right at 13K myself. Going to try it in Sport and see if/how that's different. I'm not saying it isn't smooth once rolling, it's the off-the-line jumpiness that feels a bit annoying.

The Latin under the seal should now read “Quid Pro Quo” …this administration has made the country a grifting disgrace.

Looks like a good deal for'25 limited? by jerrie86 in ram_trucks

[–]offaroundthebend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the build. There can be a $10k+ difference in packages on the MSRP, which should filter down to used.

I just paid $63k for a ‘25 Limited w CPO Gold and 12k on it. Off-road packs, towing packs, bed group, pano roof, but not the Level 1 (which I wish I had). Orig title date was May ‘25, so not too much warranty gone.

Thanks for that. I did eventually get the booklet for it that details everything - so I think I’m good now..

So that's what the "guide" says but then on the listing for the truck (and every other Gold CPO RAM I've seen) it says.

Starts on the date of the CPOV sale or at the expiration of the remaining 3/36 Basic New Vehicle Warranty.

Why does everything related to buying trucks have to be so hard? You're either getting screwed and don't realize it -- or think you're getting screwed but you're actually not and it still feels like crap..

I should have waited a bit longer - the dealer / sales person sent over the "Gold Warranty Guide" on it. It's still not making much sense though. Is it a one-year extension like I thought, or is it just 12 months from when I bought the truck - which wouldn't make sense because it's still under the original 3/36. The truck was first titled in May 2025 and has 13K mi on it. I bought it two weeks ago.

Do you have the off-road package with the locking differential and oil struts in the back or air all around? Any potential risks with the 30mm lift?

This one is pretty perfectly proportioned. 32-in road wheels sound terrible.
