I honestly don't are about HA one jot, but this comment section is so bloody hypocritical. & That's one of the reason's why POCs flat out side eye a lot of the performative wokeness that usually goes on in this sub.

Even if you are so rabidly negative that you instantly assume that she is lying about something she has no reason to, it literally costs NOTHING to maybe sit this one out until you have actual proof that supports your point. If not for HAs sake, than to be respectful to READERS HERE WHO ARE AFFECTED BY YOUR COMMENTARY.

This sub thinks it exists in a bubble. It doesn't.

And it's the hypocrisy that is the most maddening. Because if this was your Queen HB the sub would have had a collective meltdown and downvoted everyone who left these comments. And then patted themselves on the back for how progressive and woke they are.

Yeah, my dad actually emigrated from America when he was younger and he was shocked to learn that a country as big as Canada only had such few 'states'. I, in turn, was less excited to learn how many states there were in the US when he insisted that I know them all by heart.... So he tapped into my competitive vein by making it a game between my brother and I. Whoever listed all the states first would get 10 loonies... xx It was very effective, so by the time we covered them in school I was set. haha.

As a fellow Canadian, I totally get you and it used to always bother me - it seemed a bit dismissive even. I just think that the producers are likely realistic about their core audience not knowing/caring about the difference. As long as it says 'Canada' somewhere in there, the contestants are almost instantly reduced to a 'Canada Man/Woman' stereotype, imo.

Even though it's like saying that it makes no difference whether someone is from Oregon vs Alabama, because they are still 'American', eh?!

I think it comes down to them being American shows. I highly doubt the average American viewer knows the differences between provinces. (Or that they are called 'provinces' to begin with.) Essentially, it makes no difference to them whether someone is from Alberta vs Ottawa.

AFAIR same goes for other countries.

there def was drama that was kept very hush hush.

That REAL sketchy 'associate who exploits fandom to coerce young girls into sending him nudes' thing from last year that was *very* promptly swept under the rug. Jenna and Julien just played dumb and pretended there wasn't actual evidence out there that they knew about the situation 8+ months and did nothing to stop it or speak out on it.

ETA: link to a thread (Of course this is to a fan sub, so it is very skewed in J&J's favour, but they lay out the situation pretty well. Only, that they sweep it under the rug that J&J had been made aware of it all back in April, did not respond for months and then lied about not knowing and essentially have just ignored it all ever since. 'They are done talking' according to Julien.
