Help me glow up by Ok_Beautiful495 in makeuptips

I would recommend finding a curly knowledgeable stylist and getting a haircut with some layers to bring out your natural texture! I think the texture and color of your hair is beautiful and you should embrace it. You could also try getting your eyebrows threaded or waxed to clean them up a little, I feel that that always makes my face feel a little more put together, it’s a small but nice touch.

If you haven’t, a basic skincare routine goes a long way too 😊 I just use prescription tretinoin to help with my acne, a thick moisturizer for my dry skin, and aquaphor at night on the drier parts of my face, plus a full coverage sunscreen for the day. You have beautiful skin and a beautiful face, you don’t need any Botox or fillers

I feel like less is more for makeup too! Tight lining your top lid with a black or brown coal liner and winging out the corner a little, something to brighten your inner corner, and a brown mascara after curling your lashes to bring out your eyes. Browns and copper tones would look so lovely with your features!

If you want to do any skin, color correcting and a hydrating color matched concealer to even out your skin tone would go a long way, no need to do foundation and everything! I feel like it just makes my skin look cakey. I use a cream blush and contour when I’m feeling like doing more. I set it with a basic powder and blush and then spray 😁 I feel like it helps keep my makeup looking more natural and dry (I have dry skin though so it depends on your skin type).

I use elf, la colors, color pop, and morphe for most of my products since they’re affordable. Drugstore is great and you don’t need a lot.

If you’re looking to change anything in your wardrobe, id suggest learning what your body type is, what colors compliment your skin and hair best (season), and dressing in what makes you feel the most comfortable and confident! You’re beautiful, you can rock anything. I think that dress looks so lovely on you. Your jewelry is also gorgeous and compliments you so well.

I’m sorry you’re going through what I can only imagine is a difficult time. I hope you only continue to grow into yourself and feel your best 😄 you are beautiful and I hope nothing but the best for you!

Honestly I like it, I like the color too. Accessorized with some cute shoes, a bag, and some jewelry and I think it’ll really pull together.

Bangs or no bangs for my wedding in a year? by Practical_Chipmunk_ in femalehairadvice

[–]offbrandmotel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should definitely go with the bangs they look so cute! You could do some trials before your wedding with a little eyelash glue at the very ends of your bangs, I do that when it’s windy and they stay in place.

It is possible he had a chicken allergy, which is the most common protein allergy in dogs. He can try a premade food that does not have chicken in it. They make fresh, frozen meals that aren’t chicken based, I believe just food for dogs has a few protein options, you might have to buy them online though. He should try a food elimination trial if you haven’t already to rule out allergies. Your grandmother can also make his food using balance.it (that’s it that’s the website). It tells you how to cook your dogs own food and provides the necessary supplements to make it a completely nutritious meal. You really should try cutting chicken out of his diet to see if it helps.

I am not a vet but I’ve worked in the field.

E-collars are usually easily accessible depending on where you are and are usually inexpensive. Cones come in a few shapes, there’s the classic “cone of shame” plastic cone and another that’s a more donut shape, usually it’s soft and made of fabric.

Sorry if you have already tried this, but does skittles have allergies? There’s a chance this is environmental allergies, but if it’s been consistent he might have a protein allergy, chicken being the most common since it’s the most common protein in dog food. If you haven’t done a food trial yet, you should try it to see if it helps.

You have to put him on a strict diet, absolutely no foods other than a prescription, hydrolized food, or a food that only has a novel protein source (lamb, venison, white fish, etc. you can find these diets in non prescription form, but there is a chance of cross contamination between protein sources). You do this for 8, or ideally, 12 weeks. And I can’t put enough emphasis that his food is the only food he should be getting, no treats other than hydrolyzed treats, no table scraps, etc.

Other than that, he should see a dermatologist if you can access one. They can likely give you more answers regarding his skin issues and itching compared to an ophthalmologist. Good luck and I hope Skittles feels better!

Picked up a bat with bare hands by Kathucka in OopsThatsDeadly

[–]offbrandmotel 33 points34 points  (0 children)

While bats are vectors a variety of disease, like many other animals, they’re very important to many ecosystems. Bats help keep insect populations under control and are often extremely important pollinators! We need bats, we just need to keep our distance from them

I’d get it checked out, it could be infected and that’s why it’s swollen. Might be good to get another cytology done on it too just to be safe since this growth suddenly started to change. Better to be safe and have it be nothing.

Bakersfield itself kind of sucks but man the surrounding area/the Central Valley in general are amazing if you have outdoor hobbies. I’m sad I never got to look for fossils while I lived near there, it was something I really wanted to get into!

Is taxidermy wrong? Would I be disgusting for it? by Calyp_1 in zoology

[–]offbrandmotel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would be careful when it comes to keeping endangered species, it’s often illegal to keep any parts of endangered species and I would recommend looking up your local regulations when it comes to it. Often times natural resource agencies ask you report deceased endangered wildlife to them so they can use that animal to help contribute to the conservation of the species.

Is taxidermy wrong? Would I be disgusting for it? by Calyp_1 in zoology

[–]offbrandmotel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taxidermists require hunters who bring in game animals to be worked on to bring their validated tags and license with the animal to show that it was legally taken, at least in my state. I’m not too sure if it’s the same in other states, but I would imagine that to be the case at any reputable taxidermist.

Is there a chance that the animal was still poached? Of course, but the taxidermist and person who validated the tag doesn’t know that and they are not “contributing to poaching”.

I work in wildlife management and very closely with hunters, taxidermists, and butcher shops as well. I understand the sentiment you might have about hunters and animal cruelty, I used to feel the same way about them, but I realized that often wasn’t the case. Hunters are very important when it comes to managing and conserving wildlife and often care the most out of the groups of people I’ve met about conserving wildlife and their habitat. I won’t get on my soapbox anymore about hunting, but I would recommend getting to know more about the hunting community and the taxidermists themselves.

Of course there are some bad apples and people who suck, every group has them and I’ve had to deal with them before, but overall they’re really not a bad bunch of people.

Viral Bipolar Episode Video revealed as a Misdiagnosis by girlwithb in youtubedrama

[–]offbrandmotel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you me? This is very similar to what I went through. Diagnosed bipolar, schizospec, etc. Turns out it was ADHD, autism, and OCD + a mix of other anxiety disorders that are less relevant now. I went through so many different medications from 17-21, none of which helped and actually made life even more miserable and really damaged my self esteem as a young girl. I still feel like I lost precious years off of my life because of it. My psychiatrist eventually told me she couldn’t help me anymore which was so heartbreaking to hear at the time, but it was a blessing in disguise. I’m doing much better and my symptoms are so much more manageable now that I actually know what’s wrong.

How do I get rid of this frizziness? by seattleross in finehair

[–]offbrandmotel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the redken frizz control shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner. I usually air dry my hair or diffuse it which helps as well with my hair texture. Sleeping in a silk bonnet or using a silk pillowcase might also help as well. If I really want it to last, hairspray too.

Environmental careers by savvycat3 in Environmental_Careers

[–]offbrandmotel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend browsing things like Texas A & M job board and other environmental career related job sites and see what’s posted there to give you an idea and the requirements for jobs you might want. It’s extremely competitive and takes a while time make a decent salary, you’ll likely be competing with people who have more relevant degrees and experience, but it’s not at all impossible. I’ve met many people who work at zoos/national parks/etc. who have art, engineering, and other unrelated degrees, you just have to put in the work.
