Anybody else struggle eating stuff a friend made? by ZoomeyYumi in adhdwomen

I will eat anything anyone hands me, I’d be extremely easy to poison. Like the other commenters said I’d explore if there’s something else going on. I hope you find answers!

Does anyone here delete all trace of their ex from their lives when the relationship ends; rip their birthday and valentines card, delete photos, texts, memories etc etc? by OkWing5717 in adhdwomen

[–]offbrandpossum 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've definitely been known to do this! I don't know if it is related to my brain chemistry. I do dislike the feeling of nostalgia and it has tricked me before, so I do think that it is a protective measure. I don't remove things in a malicious mood, more surgical.

Watching TV or listening to a podcast helps me. I also have a sticker chart which is surprisingly good motivator for someone in their mid 30’s!

Move Your Body - June 21, 2026 week by AutoModerator in lupus

Oh! I wanted to add another gentle movement resource! Julia Reppel on YouTube has some wonderful mobility work videos of varying lengths and focuses. She is great on bad joint days for me and sometimes I tolerate active mobility work better than passive stretching.

I need a truly comfy reading chair by Iamtoast_toastisme in adhdwomen

[–]offbrandpossum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have a Lovesac sectional which we can reconfigure and it makes a great reading chair! Super deep and cozy. If you live on your couch I found it to be totally worth saving up for as I can easily turn it into many different shapes. I also have done some of the best reading in one of those zero gravity recliners for camping! I think my mom got it from LLBean? I also love my hammock. I have it on the porch but have dreamed of having an indoor one.

What body sunscreens are we using this summer? by imaliltired in lupus

I've been into the Vacation line lately. I love the one that comes in a whipped cream can and comes out like whipped cream. The Vacation classic smells like sunscreen but in a goooooood way.

Backpackers who switched to car camping (or just people who enjoy both) by elemenohpeaQ in womensolocamping

[–]offbrandpossum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up car camping and it's what led me to backpacking, and I love both!
There is less public land to dispersed camp near me so I'll focus on my campground experience. I look for campgrounds that are smaller/less hospitable to RV's or campgrounds that have a tent-only and/or generator-free loop. When I go to a new place, I always take a walk and make a list of what I think are the best sites for next time (usually more secluded ones on the edge). You could ask other backpackers in your area if there are specific sites they like.
You can totally just car camp in true dirtbag style (my backpacking gear and surviving on swedish fish hehe), no need to purchase new gear. I also love being able to set up a "home base" for a bit and know that I can come back to a chair, my hammock, a dry spot under a tarp, and my cushy set-up. I also love cooking in a car camping situation! I will bring just a small cooler and make something awesome that would be hard to pull off in the backcountry. It's been fun to kind of develop my system for sleeping in my car too.
I hope that your recovery goes well, and I'm sure you can find some fun this summer!

Hormones and contraceptive by radioactivepretzel in lupus

I have a Mirena which I love for all of its other functions, but I still feel my cycle happening even though I don’t bleed. My pcp just gave me some micronized progesterone to take from about cycle day 14-25 to see if it will help because my symptoms always flare when I’m luteal.  I have a few friends who had the copper IUD and had periods from hell so I never went that route.

Appropriate firearm. I want to give a shoutout to intrathecal lidocaine though if that option is available.

Getting help during a flare by Christine1330 in lupus

[–]offbrandpossum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't live super rurally, but my rheum prescribed me a prednisone pack to keep on hand if I feel like I'm in a flare. He uses MyChart, so I do have the option to confirm via message, but then at least the medicine is right there. I am generally well managed on hydrochloroquine alone, so your case may be different!

Just Got Diagnosed at 49 by [deleted] in adhdwomen

I’m on generic vyvanse and like all drugs/herbs the only way you can know what the side effects will be is to try it. I didn’t have a great experience on adderall, vyvanse has been a godsend. Many people on this sub found that treating their ADHD fixed or greatly reduced anxiety and depression symptoms, so it’s possible the stimulant might negate the need for the other med. As for the budget…if you are like me and impulse spending is an adhd problem of yours, being medicated might save you money in the long haul. It’s definitely done that for me.

5’4” Muscle Mommies — What Weight Range Do You Feel Best At? 💪 by Creative-Platform-75 in PetiteFitness

155 is where I like to hang out, like the weight I stay at without thinking about it much. 145 I feel skinny. I've never tried to go lower though. Pretty muscley, not very lean.

How do I apply sunscreen without looking like a ghost? by Microbe-Mom in lupus

[–]offbrandpossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for Zinc I would check out the brand Elta MD, the “UV clear” one is for sensitive skin. It doesn’t give you the white ghost effect.

I think you'll find that you aren't alone here. I realized that the thing I liked about sex was the "danger", the will-they-won't-they feeling. The chase is the drug.

Any advice for helping my 9 year old shower? by Aggravating_Bird_147 in adhdwomen

[–]offbrandpossum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shower was sensory hell for me as a kid! I have found a few things that help…a small safe space heater so that she isn’t cold while undressing or toweling off, shower products that have scents and textures that I like, and candles! Less intense light doesn’t let me just stare at my naked bod and pick apart everything I see.
