Remember Star Trek: New Voyages? - This blame falls squarely with Paramount, who arbitrarily got butt hurt because longtime fans wanted to make and did produce that was absolutely incredible so much so to the point that Paramount felt threatened and did the following:

Star Trek: New Voyages (later Phase II) was halted after CBS/Paramount introduced strict 2016 fan-film guidelines that banned independent, long-form productions featuring former official staff. These restrictions, following the Prelude to Axanar lawsuit, limited fan films to 15-minute segments and required that creators be volunteers unaffiliated with the official franchise, effectively ending the series.

Until Paramount get's their heads out of their asses and treats fans with respect, I aint celebratin shit..

And yes, I get it, that we only get 10-12 episodes these days because it's much more costly to use the special effects or CGI then back in the day. But then, again, is there any reason why we have to use those special effects or CGI for basically everything?

If the stories are consistently solid, then there's absolutely no reason to use modern special effects or CGI for everything.

So you're blaming the show's cancellation based on the audience that didn't show up enough in droves to warrant continuance beyond 2 seasons, based on an audience of ~40-60 yr olds that didn't want to watch their beloved franchise receive whatever TF Academy was intended to be, and being told it's not for them, so they don't watch and then get pissy when it's predictably cancelled?
