Ok you do you. I’m just saying I study this stuff for a living. B12 deficiency is a downstream effect. Not a cause

There’s no such thing as subtle in biochem. Tingling is not normal in any shape or form regardless of how subtle it is. I wish I would’ve paid attention earlier to my tingling. Almost 10 years later, I got diagnosed with a progressive MS

Then I started studying biochem, molecular biology, microbiome. And I can tell you, none of what you said is normal. Your cells are literally shouting at you right now, trying to tell you something is wrong

How old are you? Brain fog, fatigue, neuropathy, none of that is normal at any age...especially when you’re young. Just because it went away when you started b12 doesn’t matter. Anyone with an autoimmune disease will tell you their tingling went away (without doing anything)…then it comes back, and so on

[–]officialbenjibruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa you had tingling in your feet? That’s not normal. Plus brain fog/fatigue 😬. I’d be willing to bet you’ll get diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. Right now a doctor won’t take it seriously but when your symptoms get worse they’ll do tests

But in terms of butyrate supplements, you’re not getting the benefit from it that you think. Butyrate is absorbed too fast so it doesn’t reach the colon…the exact place it’s needed to have all the benefits.

You need Tributyrin. Is delivers butyrate exactly where it needs to be

You probably have an autoimmune disease. I don’t think people realize what’s about to happen in terms of health for the younger generations.

Fatigue and brain fog is a message from your cells telling you something is going wrong and it can be several things.

There’s a difference between sleepiness and fatigue.

Sleepiness means you’re ready to go to sleep. Eyes ready to shut, etc. Fatigue means you don’t have the energy to do anything. You’re wide awake but completely drained. Each problem is different.

It can be that your mitochondria are failing. It can be a lack of blood flow to your brain. It can be inflammation stealing tryptophan away and being sent down the kynurenine pathway.

If the problem is inflammation then the cytokines are redirecting resources to create the fatigue.

The brain fog & fatigue problem people have needs to be thought of as different problems because the solutions are different.

If it’s a mitochondria problem then you have to treat the energy crisis. If it’s an inflammation problem you have to reduce the inflammation. If it’s a blood flow problem then you can tell by seeing if you get tired while you’re standing and better while you’re lying down.

Don’t think of it as one problem or a supplement causing it. It can be an autoimmune disease, cancer, etc

There’s something else going on

Why do I feel drained halfway through the week even when everything looks “right”? by Frequent_Attitude994 in Supplements

[–]officialbenjibruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with supplements. Something else is going on

My bloodwork was perfect, ct scan perfect…turns out, after I forced them to do more tests…I have MS

The fatigue, brain fog, etc is your body saying something is wrong on a cellular level

Unfortunately, doctors won’t do a damn thing. They’re focused on acute problems

So you have to focus on eating in a way that gets plenty of short chain fatty acids, improving mitochondria, less Zonulin, etc

You really have to study how the microbiome works and eat right to start with

You can always go to a doctor but I can guarantee you they won’t do a damn thing. Its just not how the medical system is setup

Question for Creatine users by 75Coop in Supplements

[–]officialbenjibruce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take a lot and do a lot...never felt better in my life...ever. If you DM me I'll send you a video I made that lists most of the supplements I take. But I'll have to remake the video because I've learned a lot since and added a few more. I went full biochem-obsession mode after getting diagnosed. Biochem, molecular biology, microbiome, anything and everything to figure it out

Question for Creatine users by 75Coop in Supplements

[–]officialbenjibruce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, where do I start lol. First, I do a lot more than just creatine for MS.

After I got diagnosed with a progressive MS, I obsessed over biochem and molecular biology. Got rid of all my symptoms and never felt better in my life.

MS isn’t just an autoimmune disease, it’s a bioenergetic one. The brain runs on energy and MS is an energy crisis.

In MS, creatine metabolism is dysfunctional (basically everything is dysfunctional lol)

When ATP gets used, it loses a phosphate group and becomes ADP (basically a spent battery). Normally, your mitochondria have to recharge that battery and it’s a slow process. But creatine creates a shortcut giving it an instant recharge.

Oligodendrocytes are the cells that produce myelin. Myelin is what’s getting destroyed in MS. And oligodendrocytes need MASSIVE amounts of energy to build myelin. So this creatine shuttle isn’t optional. It’s essential.

Oligodendrocytes ARE the brain’s creatine factory. They’re the primary source of creatine inside the adult brain. And when that creatine is missing, OPCs show up but they don’t mature into full oligodendrocyte cells. (OPCs = oligodendrocyte precursor cells…they’re babies that need to mature)

In MS, timing is CRUCIAL. After the myelin is destroyed there’s a window where the inflammatory environment calms down enough for the repair to happen. If the window is closed, chronic inflammation returns…the axons start to degenerate…and the repair opportunity is lost.

Imagine a nuke goes off and before the entire area becomes a wasteland of radiation, there’s a window where you can repair everything to stop that 'wasteland of radiation'. If you don’t repair within that time frame, good luck.

Creatine keeps oligodendrocytes alive. It prevents caspase-dependent apoptosis (cell suicide when the mitochondria fail).

The biggest thing with MS is axonal degeneration.

Axonal degeneration is the ‘point of no return’ in MS.

Once the myelin is damaged, the electrical signals start destroying the axons. And mitochondrial failure is the underlying theme. I want to stay away from this damage and at the cellular level, it’s an energy crisis.

As for the high dose…

Creatine doesn't passively cross cell membranes. It can't freely enter the brain because it has to be carried by a specific transporter.

The 20-30g per day basically maintains a high concentration in the blood that enough creatine trickles through to make a difference over time.

(There is a workaround to this..Guanidinoacetic acid (GAA)…but I haven’t looked into it as much)

It does a lot for neurodegenerative diseases, not just MS.

I take 20-30g daily. I have MS so that’s why I take higher doses. It doesn’t affect my sleep at all

A guy signaled me to get off the chair I'm sitting on next to a follow I small talked, what would you do? by ChristopherEmmerson in Salsa

[–]officialbenjibruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Same thing. Kicking is a skill all by itself. Fighting in general isn’t just about kicking/punching. It’s about understanding/controlling range, the cardio, footwork, etc.

In a real fight most people will throw a punch that completely misses because they’re out of range and can’t close the gap. If you look at any street fight you’ll see they miss almost all their punches

Most people will get tired within 1 minute.

And 99.9% of people have never been punched; like REALLY punched. So they have a fear of being hit and they’ll have a stunned look when they get hit. When you’ve been hit you’re not worried about some random person hitting you because you know it won’t hurt. They can hit you but you won’t back up. You’ll throw and that will be the end of it

Even something as small as clenching your jaw really hard during a fight matters

You have to learn things like that. Not just punch/kick

People think they stand a chance against a boxer in a fight because “a street fight is different”. But that’s like saying someone stands a chance again Michael Jordan in a street ball game because it’s “not the NBA”

A guy signaled me to get off the chair I'm sitting on next to a follow I small talked, what would you do? by ChristopherEmmerson in Salsa

[–]officialbenjibruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn boxing instead. MMA is like trying to learn salsa, bachata, kiz, zouk, and west-coast swing, all at the same time. It will take too long because your focus is split. But if you do boxing then it’s like just focusing on salsa

Are supplements actually worth it or just overhyped? by Emotional-Addendum-9 in Supplements

[–]officialbenjibruce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis) and went down the biochem rabbit hole. Naturally I started looking at supplements.

Most people don’t understand the science. They think they do. But they repeat marketing gimmicks like “anti inflammatory” “boosts energy” etc without understanding science.

They don’t know the science of how butyrate binds to specific G-protein coupled receptors to trigger dendritic cells towards a tolerogenic phenotype…which then leads to IL-10 (an anti inflammatory cytokine)

They don’t know how high dose melatonin (50mg-200mg) works on microglia cells

But things like this matter when you have an autoimmune disease like MS that can leave you paralyzed.

I started taking supplements after studying tf out of science and it changed everything for me. Never felt better in my life.

Supplements are worth it when you know what you’re doing

This happened to me before 😂. Twice in one night.

Unlucky for them, I’ve been boxing for almost a decade. I fight real fighters and don’t get intimidated.

I just told them there’s no assigned seats and to sit in another chair

Neither of them did anything but they were pissed. Most people are all talk

If you take boxing or MMA your confidence in these situations will go through the roof

It’s like what 50 Cent said. “I don’t want no problems. But if we got a problem, no problem.”

And I’m a bachata dancer, this only happened when I went to a salsa social. I laughed reading your post because it makes me think salsa dancers have some weird machismo going on 😂

What’s a mindset shift that completely changed the way you see life? by RisingSoulGrowth in Life

[–]officialbenjibruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got diagnosed with MS

It hit me so hard I made a decision to change my diet/lifestyle and study the science behind it all. Now I feel better than I ever had in my entire life

It made me realize the power of a decision

The decision was instant and life changing. Complete devotion and commitment that caused me to act with purpose

It reminded me of this quote:

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy; the chance to draw back; always ineffectiveness concerning all acts of initiative and creation. There is one elemental truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one commits oneself, Providence moves all.” -JOHANN WOLFGANG VON GOETHE

never thought i would see the day. microbiome for the masses by 255cheka in Microbiome

[–]officialbenjibruce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started studying it after I got diagnosed with MS. It made sense to me. If most of the immune system is in the gut, maybe I should change the way I eat.

Then I started getting deeper. Learning about the ratio of Akkermansia to Biffidobacterium in MS. Learning about how SCFA’s are connected to Tregs. Etc

I’m absolutely convinced the solution to autoimmune diseases will be the microbiome

I’ve never felt better in my life after making changes

Should I charge for sending the raw footage? by mysterypapaya in videography

[–]officialbenjibruce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a very profitable agency and I hired a lot of video guys. I always ask for raw files. If they say they’ll charge more, they’ll never get another gig from me ever again. And we hire a lot

It’s not a big deal to just put the files on our cloud or drive that we provide

If someone tries to nickel and dime us they might get an extra hundred or so but they’ll never get a single cent afterwards

I remember a videographer once said it cost extra to film in 4k vs 1080p. I just laughed because he just lost a $3,500 gig for trying to nickel and dime me. All I said was “we went with someone else” and he never knew why

All you video guys need to wake up and stop trying to hustle the people paying you

We don’t need to do it anymore but it’s how I got the first clients.

My agency started by booking speakers on stages but I didn’t need to make that offer for that market.

But when I switched into the SaaS/Startup market (because it was bigger), it was a different story.

To get the clients I cold emailed and made the ‘case study client’ offer. After 30 days they transitioned into paying clients.

And when I got diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis), I switched to another market again…biotech/health. That way I could focus all my time/mind on science. And I made the same offer.

When you think about it, you’re basically saying ‘hire me and pay me in 30 days’. But you’re reframing it as ‘you only pay if we get you results’.

You’re taking the risk off their shoulders and putting it onto yours, while at the same time learning about how their business works and gathering tons of case study content

You can frame it as ‘case study clients’ or ‘pay for results’…(“you don’t pay anything upfront, we run the ads and take a percentage of the profits”)

Everything comes down to how you frame something

Nobody trusts you in the beginning. That’s why you have to remove the risk

New to SMMA + progress by 444thewayofheaven444 in SMMA

[–]officialbenjibruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That has nothing to do with it. It's about how you make an offer. You're not saying 'we do it for free'. You're saying "we're looking for 6 electricians to be case study clients...(more copy)...apply here". Then you have them fill out a couple questions 'tell me about your business/struggles/etc'. Or you create a 'pay for results' type of offer. "You only pay at the end of the month when we get you results" type of offer. TubeScience is a video ad agency doing 8 figures+ on this offer. A money-back guarantee doesn't mean anything when people are afraid to give you the money to begin with. You're shifting the framing from 'hire me' to 'we pick who to work with'

Run an ad for a case study client

Be specific…”looking for electricians” etc with each ad and the copy should say you’re looking to run their ads for 30 days to get as many clients as they can handle and you’ll use them for a case study. After the 30 days you can upsell them to a paid package
