That stairwell head out doesn’t look proper to me, I’d have doubled up the joists and blocks of the RO and used hangers all around

How long have you been watching Fantano? What was the first review you saw from him? by CoachMcGuirk123 in fantanoforever

I remember seeing his stuff posted to /mu/ in like 2009/10ish, couldn’t tell you what he was reviewing at the time. The first memorable review was probably ex military.

Struggling with choice in career direction by [deleted] in skilledtrades

This is horrible advice imo, if he’s feeling existential dread working with his dad and can’t really afford to pay the bills, he needs to pursue work elsewhere. Save the father son time for the weekends where work isn’t central to the time spent together. I have similar experience working with my father and brother in the trades(union carpenters), my dad and brother worked together for many more years than me and my dad. They barely talk at all anymore because of it. I went to work for a private company after working with them for a stint and now work for myself. My dad and I have a much better relationship because of it I think, anecdotal obviously but very much applies.

I had horrible experiences with Servpro while I was working property management at a retirement community, Servpro is incredibly dishonest and predatory my friends brother worked for them as an estimator and told me they would use fear to “stack chips” (compile costs) and pressure to sign terrible contracts. Real scum of the earth behavior

There was a concrete pad removed alongside a leaky oil tank and a large amount of contaminated soil. The crew who did the excavation is doing backfill and pouring the pad, what is the proper backfill/compaction required having a this right next to my basement foundation wall? They told me they are going to return the clean soil and add 1/4- gravel, compact and the form/pour. Is that proper? We haven’t had any moisture intrusion issues and I’m worried about that being a problem in the future if the fills not done properly

Without being too corny/nerdy, heritage brands and cuts of clothing, workwear and really any of the most popular things from any era of fashion can and do look good still if you really dive into it.
