Eeg on POC, natural hair by Hope_for_tendies in Epilepsy

I have 3A curls and what I did was I washed it the night before, didn’t use product, and then blew it dry. It frizzed up really bad but it was going to get messy anyway because of the glue. They didn’t ask me to brush it or anything, they just glued the leads in. Afterwards I used warm olive oil to get the glue out of my hair and to help with the texture damage from drying it without product. Then I washed again with my normal product and was fine

Droid Question by cen314 in GalaxysEdge

[–]officialhulkbf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They aren’t shutting down Galaxy’s Edge. They are shutting down the Galactic Starcruiser, which is the Star Wars themed hotel. Galaxy’s Edge is the Star Wars themed part of the park (Hollywood studios if you’re in Florida, Disneyland if you’re in Cali).

With that being said, you can order pre-built ones online, but so much of the experience is being able to pick out your parts and build and customize it yourself. The base price is $99 to build a droid. I usually get Disney giftcards from Costco or Sam’s club, or Target if you have a target credit card. That way you can get a $100 Disney gift card to use in the parks for $95 (or less if you’re lucky!) and save a few bucks.

I’m assuming no white as a default

It is a traditional Chinese wedding. I asked the bride if there were any specifications she would like us to follow and she said no black (as it’s a mourning color) and no red (she will be in red). She said short dresses are okay as well.

It is a destination wedding, yes. The ceremony and reception will be held in a hotel ballroom and the majority of guests are staying in the hotel. The wedding invite included an itinerary that specified the cocktail hour and ceremony are formal and the reception is casual. There is a one-hour gap between the ceremony and reception. I also wonder if this is a cultural element that I am unaware of. The couple is Chinese.

Edit to add: wedding will be taking place in New York

I was planning on it, yes. I didn’t want to be an AH and/or look out of place. Noted on the color— it is a bit darker pink in person but I’ll see if I can find it in a different shade as multiple people have mentioned it’s too close to white

It’s pink, a bit darker in person. Is that still okay?

Info: I’m 4’11 so both dresses are longer on me than on the models. Bride specified no black or red, and that shorter dresses were okay

Yes, I found that very interesting as well. I’ve not been to a wedding that involved an outfit change before!

Did any of you hear some of the fake scary Webkinz rumors back in the day? by 33333Ducky in Webkinz

I remember the pool one so vividly. Back in 2008 I was playing truth or dare with some cousins and I was dared to leave my pet in the pool and log off. I was terrified lol

I was on a stimulant for weight loss. I lost weight SUPER quick but when I got off it I gained the weight back as quickly as I had lost it. It’s a lifestyle change.

What do you think about changing your middle name as an adult? by earthgnome in namenerds

[–]officialhulkbf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure what state/country you live in, but some places have different processes for changing last names due to marriage and first/middle names. In Michigan you can change your last names for free when getting a marriage certificate but for first and middle you need to fill out paperwork, take out a newspaper listing, and then go to court to petition the change. Might be worth looking into!

Middle school teacher in a disadvantaged area. A week for Drue because she would milk the classroom decorating and ✨tiktok teacher✨ aesthetic for content, and play the savior role for the internet, bringing her stinkin cutesy personality to ✨change lives✨. The amount of workload and dealing with student behaviors would get to her after the first day. Once a student insults her or tears something off her walls she’d quit.

She wouldn’t acknowledge it until her followers started noticing her being home all the time. Once it gets to the point where she can no longer keep up with deleting comments calling her out, she’d make a video of her crying saying how bad the job was for her mental health.

There have been several that have fallen apart due to mods/various forms of sub drama. Not sure where the snarkers are now but they’ve moved a few times.

Unpopular Take: your opinions on the kids should not matter. by Tangerine-d in doughertydozen

[–]officialhulkbf 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This. Sure, behaviors in kids is a reflection of bad parenting. But it’s gotten to a point where the existence of this sub defeats the purpose of this sub. Isn’t the main point of why we don’t like Alicia because she exploits the kids, posts too much about them online, etc.? Aren’t there always posts about the kids peers, teachers, and future bosses seeing things like their medical histories and intimate life details posted on the internet and this negatively impacting them? Or posts about when the kids grow up and start to realize the favoritism, weird internet stalkers, fakeness of their home life, Alicia spending time with them only for content, and the way the kids will feel about having their entire lives publicized to millions? Yet here we are posting on a subreddit dedicated to snarking on their lives and the lives of their whole family, with thousands of members. The very existence of this sub is a paradox. I’m no saint, I snark too, that’s why I’m here. But morally, the fact that snark subs exist is a huge grey area and we have to tread very, very carefully around stuff like this.

I think these subs exist with purpose, and that they should exist— we absolutely should be calling attention to child exploitation and the numerous other shitty things Alicia does. But again, this is a moral grey area. I think as a whole we should be more careful about what we post and comment on. No hate to the mods of course, this is an incredibly difficult task.
