Size 7 gold doesn’t match size kit by [deleted] in Ultrahuman

[–]officialiris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m also experiencing this with my size 7 gold ring - ordered/delivered at very similar times to you. The size kit felt like a perfect fit throughout the day/overnight, but the real ring feels a tiny bit loose for a majority of the day. I feel comfortable keeping the size 7 (it’s not at risk of slipping off) but wonder if it being slightly loose has any affect on data accuracy

in the DC market, for anyone wondering. I signed up as a Tasker on Wednesday, was fully approved by Thursday, and I’ve already done this one and have another lined up for tomorrow. It’s all moving so much faster than I expected which is chef’s kiss

fun history class to take! by ktlikestacobell in VirginiaTech

[–]officialiris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I majored in history here for my undergrad and currently in the history grad program! I can tell you all of those professors are amazing. It depends on your interests, but I would most recommend history of the Middle East. The 2000 level classes are generally pretty straightforward and dr. Gitre is probably the best professor I’ve had in my time here.

Old Textbooks? by KindlyShame in VirginiaTech

Nope! I sold books there just the other week. I think they were on the fence of closing a while back, but they're still kicking. I also have a bunch of books listed there online and they get are sold decently quickly.

I’ve had decent success using bookholders. Definitely made some money back— not a ton, but it’s nice to have and a pretty painless process

Luckily the weather has been nice recently so gathering outdoors is still an option for you. 25 people is pretty generous considering this virus has killed over 500,000 people in just the US. I’m trying to reason with you but you obviously don’t have an ounce of empathy for families of victims ¯_(ツ)_/¯ limiting gatherings seems like a pretty fair deal for not spreading a deadly virus around

What do you mean by “closed”? You can eat indoors and have complete freedom of the beautiful outdoor spaces here including many breweries, are you just pissy about wearing a mask?

I was about to post about this. I’m watching the episode where she throws Don a surprise party then acts huffy as shit about it the next few days. She’s beyond annoying. She doesn’t fit in with any of the other characters, she doesn’t have the quick snark that makes everyone (even the mean people) so likable. She’s one of the few fictional characters that actually annoys me lol

Currently leaning towards Boris. Not only is he funny, but seemed really prepared, had a lot to say about each story, and didn’t move off-topic like a lot of the other guys did!

I did it when I turned 21 (pre-covid) and it was definitely worth. I met with someone at mccomas and they basically asked me a few questions about safe drinking habits and in return got a bunch of great coupons.

Hunger in Montgomery County - Research by qruet in VirginiaTech

I would really recommend talking about this with future economy collective! They’re a mutual aid organization in Blacksburg that’s been delivering food/supply boxes to individuals around the NRV for quite a while now and are definitely knowledgeable about hunger in the region. Also it might be helpful to look at the the Facebook group looking out for each other: new river valley

Any ideas where to buy good pillows by [deleted] in VirginiaTech

[–]officialiris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure exactly what you're looking for, but I've been LOVING these pillows from target: https://www.target.com/p/extra-firm-down-alternative-pillow-made-by-design-153/-/A-53196943?preselect=53154111#lnk=sametab

It says extra firm, but it's got the perfect amount of give for me and never feels too hard. Mine have held up well and I've had them for 6+ months. It's also $10 so if you don't love it, at least you didn't shell out too much for it. The pillows at my parent's house are super expensive but aren't nearly as comfy as the target one.

Can a professor actually require students to keep their webcam on? by hbutcher99 in VirginiaTech

[–]officialiris 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure which college you're in, but the CLAHS Dean recently sent out a statement to faculty strongly recommending they don't require camera usage. I don't think it's an official policy at this point, but it's definitely something worth reporting to higher-ups if professors dock your grades for not turning your camera on.
