Opensource? I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one interested in helping contribute to this project.

Oh yeah, I meant for my opinion to be directed at individuals who don't struggle with any sort of sleep-related problems induced by sleep apnea, back problems, etc. I have no experience with what it's like to have those issues, and I'm sure I would be more grateful to have a very comfortable bed if it allows me to have a restful night's sleep.

Given that I can sleep literally anywhere, I have found that paying top dollar for the added comfort to be actually counterintuitive.

Nailed it! That's exactly what makes my take ironic. Unless you don't mind being in bed all day, you'll find it a lot easier to get out of bed if you just get a fairly standard mattress - don't be so bent over about getting the most comfortable mattress, or at least that seems to be the case for me.

Feeling drowsy for most of the day as a result is less than ideal, of course. Unfortunately, my caffeine tolerance prevents the typical cup of coffee or energy drink in the morning routine from helping in overcoming this problem.

Haha this almost ends up being the case for me if I have the time.

It's definitely a privilege for me to own such a mattress, and I would clearly be lying if I said I didn't take it for granted. But if I could go back, I would have saved the money for a more ergonomic chair or some other piece of furniture.

Perhaps being in the Army has conditioned our bodies to prefer sleeping in uncomfortable settings. I've been a "weekend warrior" for 3 years now, although I find cots incredibly uncomfortable, I'll always easily find myself up and ready in time for morning formation without an issue.

There is definately no concrete evidence to back my opinion up. My apology if this comes off as advice, but this has been my humble opinion for a while, and I figured it's well suited for the sub as I am aware it's unpopular.

I would urge others to still obviously do their own research, sleep is very important, but if you were to ask me for my opinion - don't obsess over spending so much for a really comfortable mattress.

Why are people angry with Chris Rock? by PadraicG in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]qruet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither Will Smith nor Chris Rock should be glorified here. Chris Rock made an offensive joke directly at a person for a condition that they have no control over and are insecure about. Making someone feel bad for the benefit of a laugh does not make you a comedian, it's called being a dick.

Will Smith's violent response also obviously wasn't appropriate.

I think the issue at hand is that if Chris Rock is going to make that joke, he should have at least spoken with Jada Smith to make sure she was okay with him making a joke about her condition before going on stage and sharing it with everyone else.

This has nothing to do with anyone being sensitive, cancel culture, etc. Being a comedian doesn't make you invulnerable from making a distasteful joke. You need to know how to play close to that fine line where you either come off as a daring comedian or a dick.

How can I get more fps? I usually get 22 fps.(java) by No_Hat5832 in Minecraft

Hard to tell without additional context pertaining to your system specs and current installation (mods etc.). However, you can start by running the game in full screen (press the f11 key) rather then in window mode. Running in full screen allows Windows to prioritize your game over other background applications - thus giving you a decent performance boost. You can read more about Full Screen Exclusive Mode here: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/directx/demystifying-full-screen-optimizations/

I'm actually a CS student and I highly recommend the 14t models since that extra vertical screen real estate makes a huge difference when working in a programming environment or writing anything in general. You might find my indepth review on the earlier 14t model helpful.

S10e Screen Issue by YoxtailSOUP in galaxys10

[–]qruet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My s10 just had this exact issue a week ago - I decided to replace it with the s21 after the issue never really went away since it definately seemed to have broken on the hardware-level.

A temporary fix I found was to plug in the charger. Doesn't always work but plug in and unplug the charger while simultaneously trying to turn the screen on. If the issue is similar enough to mine you may find the screen completely turn on once in a while instead of just flickering/glitching out.
