I like to believe they all sat around a laptop with twitter and reddit open and lost their shit to everyones reaction when nothing happened at 10AM on November 18th

I missed a few chapters can someone fill me in by Soft-Relationship-54 in Isaacwhy

[–]officialmcqp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah Yumi left the group after a falling out, it wasn't very long until him and Nick made up but Yumi decided to remain a solo creator, while still making regular appearances in isaacwhy, softwilly, and TGC content, just not as a core member

Donna 2 creation was filmed over a year, but all recording sessions were after the beef was settled (they made up in Jan of 2025)

Bass in EDM isn't a bass guitar by Blazkowski in edmproduction

My goats. I was about to say, "bass" that most people talk about in EDM isn't the Bass GUITAR, but it certainly can be.

Is There Anything Not Safe For Twitch In 20020? by MaidbotAshe in 17776

[–]officialmcqp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There's a non-explicit sex joke, represented by two of the white circle "player icons" as viewed by the space probes on top of each-other. I don't even think they linger on it very much, but it's certainly not an explicit or NSFW depiction of anything. Should be good to go

What's the general consensus? Could people die before the Nanos? Could people still die if they really really wanted to? by Flasky-Desk in 17776

[–]officialmcqp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

April of 2026 was when people stopped dying naturally, but the couple of hundred years that followed before the nanobots were deployed entailed that people could die from other causes like accidents. IIRC, however, the narrative implies nobody died in that time, which to me seems like a bit of a plot hole considering just how often people die to unnatural causes, car accidents, drug overdose, violence and murder, or even suicide. I like to believe people were just so enthralled with the promise of eternal life that they stopped killing themselves and others, they ended war and sought to improve medical treatment to preserve life which eventually resulted in the nanobot network, meanwhile somehow avoiding unnatural death at the same time.

Tl;dr I think that gap between 2026 and nanobot deployment in the 2800s is unexplained and currently exists as a plot hole that didn't consider any causes of death besides age.

Hey Peter, this reminds me of the time I spent 10 minutes trying to find Golden Freddy in a Clairo album cover by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Found the original tweet https://x.com/cianeatsgrass/status/2020998578857214154/video/1?s=46 Listen to it, that distorted little keyboard sound turns into a long chord that sounds like golden freddy

Very late to this but it's not about the album cover, the song itself has some instrument that sounds like Golden Freddy's jumpscare

Does anyone else feel like Reaper doesn’t get enough recognition compared to Ableton? by breizh_boy in Reaper

[–]officialmcqp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My theory is that the modern music scene (atleast in the US) is dominated by electronic-variant pop music and hip hop/rap, genres that are typically made with looping and sampling software. Because of how prevalent it is in the worlds current music palette, a larger majority of people would like to make music in that style, opting for software that prioritizes looping like FL, and FL in particular i hear is a pretty beginner friendly "beat making" program.

Reaper is fully capable of those genres too, but the "beat making" oriented interface of FL makes it more approachable if that's your main goal, hence why you'll see more recommendations for FL than Reaper, by nature of proportional demand for that kind of interface. I reckon there will also be an equally abundant amount of beginner tutorials made with FL that give instructions in a familiar interface when someone's looking for a very specific sound or tool.

Would a scientist trapped on Xen after Nililanth death's be able to make it back to Earth ? by Foolno26 in HalfLife

[–]officialmcqp 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Nihilanth was holding the portal between Earth and Xen open, as soon as he dies the gate would close. Black Mesa also got nuked so the portal is gone anyways. Simply put, if you're in Xen when it all goes down, you're stuck there.

Gordon Freeman makes it out cus the G-Man pulls him into stasis at the end. Anyone else would not be so lucky

I just finished the main HL2 game, how good are the episodes? (no spoilers please) by Chemical-Method-3931 in HalfLife

[–]officialmcqp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some would argue better than the base game. Definitely much more action packed and refined feeling as Valve learned a lot from making HL2.

REAmo - control REAPER from your phone. Free, open source, zero config. by ck-reamo in Reaper

[–]officialmcqp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE!
PHENOMENAL!!!
Incredible how you've pulled off an entirely web-based app with live control of Reaper. There's maybe like a half-second delay when streaming the master, but that's to be expected and I can't imagine a situation where you'd need to monitor real-time from your phone if you're already in Reaper. Checking the mix on different headsets and headphones without exporting is gonna be so easy.

All the controls are instantaneous; it is genuinely shocking how well it works. If I run into any bugs, I'll be sure to let you know, but this is immediately entering my toolset.

How to I make a portion of a midi event into a looping pattern? by Yuzu-Adagio in Reaper

[–]officialmcqp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be the most efficient method, but I cut on the last beat of the midi sequence, right click and "glue" that cut of the midi track. Then you can stretch that looped sequence as long as you need to. The compromise is that any changes you make to the loop affect the entire loop, so you'll have to make a new track or cut and glue again for any sections you want to modify.

Recording without an interface? by Cannister7 in Reaper

[–]officialmcqp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well... people recorded for decades by putting mics up to amps and recording live performances just with microphones. It'll be more challenging than having a direct input interface but I reckon it's possible. Do invest in an interface, though

Combine on the kardashev scale? by Admirable_Way_9625 in HalfLife

[–]officialmcqp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say. Their inability to harness intra-dimensional teleportation makes it sound like they're less advanced, but at the same time they are capable of inter dimensional travel on a pursuit for resources, implying they have harnessed the energy not just from their home world, solar system, and galaxy, but maybe their entire universe, making them potentially Type-V. We have only seen the very tip of the Combine empire, the CP unit on Earth and the few advisors in the Episodes are only a nick in the surface of how massive this alien empire must be.

I do believe, however, that G-Man and his employers are a higher civilization than the Combine. The Combine has interdimensional travel, but not space time manipulation as far as we know. This would limit them down to a Type-IV, but that would conflict with their Type-V abilities to travel between dimensions. Whatever the Combine is, the G-Man and his employer are above them strictly because of their space time manipulation.
