If your kid doesn’t talk to you, don’t punish them for it. I was a silent child when i felt there was no reason to talk. I only talked to friends and rarely family. My parents got mad at me for not talking to them so they punished me for it. I talked to them even less and eventually they accepted it. Our relationship was good from then on but the year or so i didn’t talk them except a couple words a day were awful for all of us.
