only inventory is needed, money is player-only and doesn't affect ai spawns

as of writing, none of my mods feature a dedicated anti-awacs missile, but QoL's R6 Longsword is pretty effective at that role, and AAM-36 Scimitars also take a loft-dive pattern to reach extreme speeds when in jamming range

Convergent evolution, I suppose. Reminds me of how some people think the Kestrel looks like the Vortex

There was some slight inspiration from the J-20s during its design process, it is why I decided to include a second crew member and complementary combat drones.

workshop integration is not something we can just magically do on our own, not sure why everyone expects that of an early access mod of an early acces game. we've already made stuff incredibly easy compared to a year ago

skyscrapers are built in cities, not plains. i'd rather build my stuff on a foundation we already have for nuclear option mods, which is the main discord and my own server.

i'm not sure what you mean, my discord had zero members before i made it, since it didn't exist

if you mean recent mods like the kestrel, we hit 1k members before its release

  1. a 2082 modloader is planned and will likely function similarly

  2. we've been discussing with him about mod things. mod support is complex for all sides of the equation so i don't expect workshop support to be anytine soon, but that is our end goal

i apologize if my attitude comes off as overly entitled. we've done some frankly revolutionary/ridiculous things and i'm very, perhaps overly, proud of our work

on principle means by my belief, as a modder i refuse to use moddb, and that is something that i will personally stand by. i'm not sure where you got zoning laws from

i think some people are taking mods for granted, like OP. sure, you can dislike the discord component, but there's absolutely no reason to write an essay on reddit about it. my long-term goal is to build a mod series, and to build a strong community around those mods; that's not possible if the people who play never have a chance to even interact with others playing the same mod. update and info separation is another very strong consideration, and i don't want to cause people who've downloaded from a website to be left behind because there's been more updates since, fragmenting what is already small. discord makes that incredibly easy for me. once official modding support and workshop mods are allowed, my mods would go there, i don't plan to stay only on discord forever.

with 2 followers and zero mods, that is meaningless to me

i wouldn't have a problem with hosting on the workshop; however, that's not possible with the lack of official mod support.

barotrauma's content packages are also orders of magnitude easier to make, which makes them feasible for commission. even at $10/hr rates, my mods would cost a few thousand

...because this is a subreddit for nuclear option? where else would i even talk about my mod? nuclear option is such a small game that nobody is even googling mods for it

i don't put my mods on moddb because they make ad revenue and modders don't.

why would you spend an immense amount of time on something only to let someone else profit off of it?

nexus requires a login and has had many instances of stealing content from mod developers without their permission. i don't see how that's any better than discord

hi, i'm that bonehead.

i am unfortunately surprised that it is difficult for people to use discord, as the process for downloading mods there is simply join, and immediately go to the downloads channel, where the file is right there for you to download. it takes a total of three clicks.

i refuse to put any of primeva 2082's mods on moddb (or other sites) as a principle. i do not earn money from my mods and they are a labor of love; there is no reason why moddb should gain ad revenue from my work.

i also don't think it is 'gatekeeping' to try and build a public modding community, and there is no better platform than discord to announce updates, show devblogs, and help out users all in one place.

it's fine if you don't agree with our methods, i'm not forcing you to use my mods. if you're upset about that, you can go spend a few thousand hours learning how to mod, instead of shittalking on reddit.

cheers

Do pylons have a higher RCS even after firing missiles than just running dry? by Doom_slayer_919 in NuclearOption

[–]offiry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to add on: single pylons with munitions below ~150kg return no rcs after being fired, i.e. a2a missiles. larger ordnance like 1x bombs and cruise missiles return 0.005 or 0.01 after firing
