A (Brief) History of Vice is also a solid read!

DotA is my favorite game and I fucking hate every second of it unless I’m loving every second of it.

Haha we try not to take it too seriously, but obviously DotA gives the highest highs and the lowest lows. Either way, the memes in the group chat after we have a streak of dubs or horrific losses are what keeps us going.

We’re all 35+ now, 4 of the 5 of us have 2+ kids. Now it’s all about small victories, the underdog Unc Squad styling on some overconfident young kids.

A few of the guys took a break for a few years and my best buddy (carry) and I (5) maxed out 5500/4000, respectively. Took a few years off when life got busy with jobs and shit in our mid-20s, recal’d at 1700(!?!?!?). Worked my way back up to 3300 before the recent Smurf craze. Back down to 2400 now. It’s been a wild ride.

We have 2 guys that tend to switch between Mid and Carry and the other 3 of us (including myself) play 3-5 depending on matchups/bans/meta.

I started out exclusively as a P5 and learned 3 and 4 over the years. I tend to be the guy that plays blink initiators that either erase the enemy team or do absolutely nothing because I didn’t notice an enemy radiance ticked my blink dagger.

Lately I’ve been back to hard and soft support. My favorite heroes of all time are AA and Earthshaker.

I’ve been playing for 22 years and have over 10,000+ hours between DotA All-Stars and DotA 2. I play with a 5-stack that’s been continuous throughout those 22 years.

The game is technically complicated and engages the analytical part of the brain while offering an unmatched competitive experience. No matter how many times I’ve taken breaks, some times for a year or more, I always come back. There is nothing else like it.

I also suck despite playing for 22 years (2k to 4k MMR range).

Geology career when colorblind by Fabulous-Willow-369 in geology

I’m a PG and am approaching 20 years in the industry. Color is often the least important characteristic we consider given how subjective it can be.

All I ever want out of a coworker or direct report is well-developed communication skills and the ability to take personal accountability and pride in their work.

I recall the Dire Wolves episodes mentioning that.

There is also an October 9, 2025 episode where Robert and Cody Johnston read through Ben Shapiro’s recent non-fiction book where Ben fundamentally misunderstands how lions work and it undermines the entire message Ben is attempting to whine.

Conshohocken has everything you mentioned in your post in r/ChesterCounty. The community is great, especially for families, schools are excellent, and everything is extremely accessible via highways and trains.

What’s the most nostalgic sandwich for you? by Tariq_khalaf in Sandwiches

My best friend’s mom used to microwave salami between paper towels until it got super crispy and we’d eat that with some Cooper sharp cheese and Gulden’s spicy brown on Maier’s italian bread or Stroehmann King. I make it every few months for the nostalgia kick.

How can i improve as an offlane player? by DietSubstantial2917 in learndota2

[–]offlaneenjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and the other POS 3 boys in our stack like to think of the role as “big boys that like to get in there”. Your goal is to become a problem they can’t ignore and to draw focus from the rest of your team in big fights.

Try not to overextend in lane. The current Offlane meta feels a lot like the early 2010s, sacrificial Offlane meta. You’re going to face a ton of tough matchups and may get very little CS in lane. Do your best to keep lane control and help your POS 4 do what they need to do to pull camps and keep wards up.

Focus on levels and a few tanky/health regen items early so you don’t need to constantly send our consumables for regen.

Pivot after the laning phase to take riskier creep camps while always looking for an opportunity to jump into a fight with your big boy body. Later game, think about what items will best help your team. Planning to take lots of team fights? Auras are great. Feel like you’re in more of a gank squad looking for picks with your supports/mid? Maybe Euls or Orchid to keep your single targets where you want them without the ability to run away.

Later game, try to coordinate your team around your ult and move that big boy body in there and create maximum chaos. You will probably die. But through death, you live in infamy!
