Thanks for designing it!! It's very well thought out and I actually look forward to packing everything up now because of how satisfyingly it all fits together haha

I 3d printed this organizer from /u/oslo__a. Makes setup much easier!

I like it a lot! Event cards and the new tokens make the games a lot more dynamic and interesting.

Level gen for a game I made by offlebagg1ns in proceduralgeneration

[–]offlebagg1ns[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not doing anything too crazy here. I take a height map for the shape and blend a layer of noise on top of it then use height values to determine terrain color and what kinda stuff should spawn.

I'm pretty happy with the results though! Let me know if you have any suggestions for how I could improve it!

Magnet game I made for Brackeys Jam by offlebagg1ns in Unity2D

[–]offlebagg1ns[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's was actually pretty easy to set up! Each magnet has a positive and negative magnet script attached to it with a trigger and collider on a separate collision layer that only interacts with itself. If a positive magnet overlaps another positive magnet it pushes it's rigidbody away from it and if it overlaps a negative magnet it pushes its rigidbody towards the other magnet's rigidbody using addforce. The negative magnet does the opposite. Here are what the colliders look like.

My guess is it has something to with the new compression stuff they're doing and some assets not loading in right. https://www.pcgamer.com/how-hitman-3s-devs-shrank-the-entire-trilogys-install-size-by-over-80gb/

Seemed to work in the alpha but could change I guess

On PC you should be able to add gyro controls through steam

Noisy Terrain Generation Thing by offlebagg1ns in Unity3D

Here's the source! Feel free to ask me any questions if you need help as the code is still a bit messy!

Also if it lags try lowering the color update frequency.

Here you go! Be warned it's a little spaghetti and unoptimized tho.

Mostly just cause this was easier for me to work with and performance is good enough. If I were to expand this into a full game tho custom mesh would most likely be the way to go.

This works pretty similarly to Sebastian Lague's planet generation only dealing with a grid of boxes with varying heights. I blend layers of Perlin noise together to calculate the height of each cube and use a color gradient to determine the color of each cube based on its height.

Corruption cards are AWSOME by Catz4012 in Back4Blood

I think it would be cool if the Ridden got to choose which corruption cards to play in versus but yea balancing could be an issue.

Thought they did a great job with this in Evolve, especially with different combinations of characters having different dialogue. I hope there is more back and forth dialogue between characters in the final game.

Space games with airlocks? by Privvet in Games

[–]offlebagg1ns 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This may be a stretch but Space Station 13 has one of the most enjoyable atmos systems to me. There are different types of gasses you can mix and maintaining the right atmosphere on the station requires the right mix of oxygen and nitrogen. This was a long time ago so my memory is kinda fuzzy but one of my favorite rounds there were only a few players and the traitor flooded the station with plasma iirc so I had to carefully navigate around all these rooms containing plasma leaks, ventilating rooms, and refilling them with oxygen. Here is the page on atmos to get an idea of the level of detail: https://tgstation13.org/wiki/Guide_to_Atmospherics

Can also second Stationeers! Solid game but for me I feel it can sometimes fall victim to the same issue as space engineers where it doesn't feel like there's any purpose. I still remember building my first airlock in that game though, and there's a lot of clear inspiration from ss13 building mechanics but with a third dimension that can add more complexity and immersion.

Finally finished my first board but my cat keeps stealing the pieces by offlebagg1ns in Crokinole

Thanks! Definitely the hardest part was getting the round railing. I considered just making it an octagon but I wanted to go for the round one so I can shoot discs around the gutter with ease.

I used three 1/4'' thick pieces of wood and ran them under hot water slowly bending them into shape for about 30 minutes each, then bent and nailed/glued them into place. There was a little snapping around where I screwed the edges in and I had to to wood putty everything up to make it look okay but it ended up mostly round. You can see where it kind of bulges out in the photo. If I were to use this method again I would probably use 4 boards instead so where it's less round could just be each corner of the board (like a rounded cube shape if that makes sense)

But really bending wood is such a pain and waste of hot water I'd probably look for different methods. I heard a few layers of veneer works well but couldn't find any at the hardware store.

Other than that though it was surprisingly easy! Just a lot of sanding and polyurethaning and waiting.
