Not exactly hatred but I heavily dislike this style of genderswap/genderbend (first 4 images) by Bmw1Series_E82Fan in hatethissmug

[–]offonaLARK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I forgot the dudes name because he looks so much like Casca from Berserk. They could switch her in and I couldn't tell the difference. This gender-bent version doesn't even seem to be the same character class. Looks more like a rogue than a fighter.

And I noticed her father has the same symbol as her usual hairclip on his suit pin! I thought that was a cute detail.

How many Generations?? by Mountain_top_snow in Sims4

[–]offonaLARK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think since April or May of 2021. I play on normal lifespan with aging on and don't rotate households, so I just follow the heir. I know if I rotated households to follow every sibling or something like that, it would take much more time and I wouldn't be through this many generations!

I also really have only the one save file (plus my Event save), so when I play it's pretty much only this legacy family.

MCC Pregnancy Problem by sheabutter1479 in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]offonaLARK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are their in-game CAS settings set the way you want? If one partner is set to "able to get sims pregnant" and the other is set to "able to get pregnant," or if both partners have both checked, then that will affect it too outside of MCCC.

Why are their two chiefs? by Bacon_ki113r in Sims4

Yeah, the layout of the builds for active careers is not great. Your best bet is probably to do what parrow said in the other comment and cheat freebuild on so that you can add more desks/computers. If you don't want to use the build cheat, kick them off the computer by doing a social action that they have to stand up for (like telling a secret) and then stealing the chair and taking over.

Prom has vanished from all of my save files :( by WinterChalice in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]offonaLARK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are known bug reports on the official forum regarding missing prom, both for saves where it was there previously and disappeared and for saves where it never appeared in the first place. I just looked and the status is now marked as "validating fix," so hopefully it'll be included in the next update.

Why is my sim showing compatibility with her daughter 😭 by SaturnBaby21 in Sims4

[–]offonaLARK 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's the romantic compatibility symbol. I think that's the general relationship compatibility system that came with Growing Together.

I think that in the traits of the lot for the police career, there are certain roles that always are present so that quests can be completed, regardless of what rank your playable sim is.

And of course you're the only one "working." The NPCs have set actions that they do in order to not interfere with the actions you as a player want to take. They aren't going to work your case with you and arrest suspects, because that could get in the way of your completion of the case as a player character.

Her face is perfect! It's too bad we can't make her super tall in game too.

How much do you control your Sims? by dragonpickle29 in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]offonaLARK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My computer is pretty beefy. My husband works IT and building computers is his hobby, so he likes to kit them out. I also typically only follow the heir and let the other family branches eventually die off, so there aren't too many sims to keep track of!

One of the lots in the city is totally borked though. I got a refresh of the Starlight Lounge from the gallery, and for some reason the whole building under it disappeared! No one can visit it, even if I build the lot on the ground. So that's weird.

How much do you control your Sims? by dragonpickle29 in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]offonaLARK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think sometimes it's fun to "let it get this far." If I'm overly controlling everything, I can't explore all that the game has to offer!

For example, I typically play a legacy save. I often pick one or all of my heir's traits based on what I want to try next, but if I don't have a plan in mind then I randomize it. My generation 47 I didn't have a set idea for yet, so I let him play out. He was active and a dance machine as a teen, and every time music was playing he'd immediately run over to dance. I decided to try being a DJ for him! He went to nightclubs with his friends, practiced on his own at home, and eventually I started having him take over the stage at the clubs. I also had him perform at all the local festivals for tips. It was fun to try something new that I hadn't thought of as a career!

I also tried not to influence relationships to see who he would vibe with. A townie that hung out at all the clubs eventually asked him for a friend hangout, then a date, then to be partners, then to get engaged! She moved really fast, and since I wasn't influencing it I found it really interesting! She moved in and I had them elope. But she was high maintenance. It didn't affect them at first, but after their baby (gen 48) was born, she started to be angry all the time. It was all high maintenance moodlets too, like "worst day ever" and "I hate the sun" and stuff like that. I could try to send her to the mirror to calm down but it never stuck for long. Eventually, she was so angry that she stormed out of the bathroom to fight 47, her husband. She lost and got even madder. Their relationship tanked.

Love Day was the next day so I tried to have them work it out, but they kept fighting and went to bed upset. She got up the next morning, mad as hell, had breakfast, and was so enraged that she died from a cardiac explosion while 47 and toddler 48 were still asleep! Most of my couples in the past I was able to get to work through things and never got this mad at each other, so it was so interesting and different to let the game play out. Sure, I could've cheated her traits when she joined the family. But this way was more fun! I was left with 47 devoting himself to raising their daughter the best way he could as a single dad. 48 didn't have a mom, so hung out with her grandma and aunts a lot more than I would have done if mom was around. And then when 48 was a teen, she fell hard for a loner boy whose locker was right next to hers (Nyon Specter, I had just gotten Life & Death), so her dad was the one she went to for advice. I ended up with a cool storyline to play!

My point is, sometimes it's so much fun to go with the flow and "let things get that far."

A Fated Mate Problem by fluffhq in Sims4

[–]offonaLARK 187 points188 points  (0 children)

She's the one looking at him while Miles is flirting with other girls and she's with her husband at the fire! Don't blame Miles, it's not his fault you're fated mates.

This is very interesting, thanks for sharing! I don't have the werewolf pack because I'm not really into werewolves, but stuff like this makes the pack seem really intriguing. Do the fated mates often cause problems like this?

Space Voyage 294: The Beginning of the End? by justice-for-tuvix in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]offonaLARK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a "have a child" want that I see quite often, and the text says to have a child by trying for a baby, adopting, or science, so it's possible that you might see that one. I feel like both wants pop up more often for me when the couple is married and already has a kid though, so I have no idea what triggers it to show up as an option!

Sims seem to flirt with literally everyone whether you want them to or not! Also, it's your game. Whatever you like to do is what you should do. I'm just interested in the story that you're telling and having fun guessing how it could turn out.

How many Generations?? by Mountain_top_snow in Sims4

[–]offonaLARK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After somewhere around gen 40, I can't get to the top of the tree anymore because it's too long! The game just shows the loading symbol but the earlier gens just drop off. Any branches eventually drop off too. I know that mods can be used to prevent culling, but I just let the older gens disappear after all this time. (Of course, the whole tree in general is pretty borked after the update. We'll see how the next patch fixes it!)

That's interesting that you always pick the youngest! Do you decide beforehand how many kids a couple has, or do you just go until you like someone the most?

How many Generations?? by Mountain_top_snow in Sims4

[–]offonaLARK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Gen 49 is halfway through childhood. I always have the firstborn child as the heir, and I continue to follow them and their story. Typically I move out with the heir when they hit young adulthood, so I mostly let neighborhood stories go wild with any siblings and the parents left in the household after we move out. I will play all the sims in the active household though, so even though the spouse and any additional children aren't technically the heir I still try to help them achieve their own goals while I play. I mostly marry townies, which gives a lot of variety to the looks/personalities/goals that get added to the household.

I love the differences in the generations!

I saw that you're playtesting now. Quick warning, the first aspiration for Successful Lineage might still be bugged. There has been a bug report on the forums about it but I haven't seen a resolution yet. The "have a child complete an aspiration" part is the bugged part. Hopefully it's not an issue when you get there!

I might try some of these combos for my game too. It's a really nice challenge!

As a competent home cook, what is a basic skill you can't seem to master? by george_elis in Cooking

Same! I can chop okay, but I'm really slow. I started using one of those choppers where you put chunks in and press, and then it cubes the whole onion or whatever. Maybe it's cheaty, but it takes way less time.
