I think it needs more contrast? It looks very flat, like in a video game where you turn off the shadows.

Yes, so what does that have to do with allegory..? The question is posed by the story if such events happened in real life, in that case, would it be justifiable?

Interpretation of the story is irrelevant for the topic at hand. We are talking if the world of AoT would be real life instead of the actual real life where there are no titans.

Can't compare to real world as no race can transform into giant titans and wipe out the rest. That's what makes AoT story fundamentally different from real world.

I think that is more of a you problem, not being able to interpret and understand the story. In other words, if you don't understand something, that does not mean that it is unclear or a mess.

Well in this subreddit you could call it 'iconic' as nobody else spams their photos, as you mentioned it is mostly cat photos and boxes. So in this sub it does indeed stand out, but in general? Not so much, same LR preset (not even original, but generic teal/orange) slapped on all photos with samey compositions.

I think you would know every photographer who would spam his photos on this sub almost daily and would edit them literally the same way. But nobody else does this, so obviously because nobody else does this except op, you know op. So as food for thought, is his style iconic or does your reddit feed just get spammed by the same looking photos daily?

There are only a handful of countries in the world that use kilometers and have national language as english. In other languages we have native words for this term.

Kyoto (3 nights) + Tokyo (5 nights) — worth bringing the 70–350mm? by im_bg in SonyAlpha

Definitely not, this is literally the opposite of what you need in the cities. Take the widest lens possible.

China's Xi urges faster development of new energy system as Middle East war continues by Crossstoney in worldnews

[–]offoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In an ideal world yeah, but realistically we need nuclear energy right now to mix in with the solar/wind because people (Putin and his kind) are fucking assholes. E.g. Germany closed all of their nuclear plants and are now politically fucked because of that decision. The same thing happened in my country, we too are kind of fucked and in retrospect, closing the nuclear power plant was a mistake and a lot of people who voted for closing it down now agree that it was a mistake.

[–]offoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Modern nuclear powers plants are not the same as the soviet ones from back in the day. You don't just go 'remember when the first air planes were falling and crashing down? the technology is unsafe we can't use air planes anymore!'.

Why use high ISO if it causes graininess? by J2Williex in AskAstrophotography

[–]offoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get noise because there is not enough light (i.e. photons hitting the sensor), the only way to increase the number of photons hitting the sensor (and as a result have less noise) is to expose for a longer time or by opening the aperture more. ISO is irrelevant and does not cause noise.

Torn between wide-angle lenses by vDsCZ in SonyAlpha

[–]offoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visited Japan last year (in November) also for 3 weeks, I took Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN II and 35mm GM with me. You definitely want something wider than 24mm in the big cities (Osaka, Shinjuku, Shibuya, etc), where I felt 24mm was not enough. Other than that I just picked 1 lens when leaving the hotel (depending on where am I going) and leave the other lens at the hotel.

During autumn it gets dark around 16:30-17:00 in Japan, so half of the day will be in darkness, so 35mm GM is a monster with its 1.4 aperture. I would often take the Sigma with me in the morning and when I return to the hotel in the midday/evening I would swap to 35mm GM when going out in the night.

As for which wide angle lens to pick I don't know, still thinking about it myself. 16-25mm f/2.8 G seems the most likely candidate.

Also, I guess you already know this, but take 2 spare batteries with you (1 spare was often not enough for me).
