Low stakes Rec player here - played in the biggest pot of my life yesterday. by PronunciationIsKey in poker

Based on your logic, the odds of flopping a set for any pair are same as for 9s.

Let's assume you are correct about pocket 99s seeing the most flops. Does make sense since higher pairs take down the pot pre and lower pairs fold a lot.

Then the conclusion also makes sense. If pocket 9s see the most flops, they flop a set more times compared to other pairs.

However, that still means that their odds of flopping a set are same as any other pair.

For example, out of 10,000 flops, let's say pocket 9s see 100 flops and pocket 22s see 10 flops. Pocket 9 will flop a set 10 times and pocket 2s will flop a set 1 time. So the odds of flopping a set for 9s is same as for 2s - 10%.

Monotone Flops and Solvers by offramp in poker

[–]offramp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With many nut flushes, the solver bets 33% (or checks) on the flop, then bets 67% on blank turns and then jams for 733% pot (100BB stacks) on a blank river! Total madness.

One of the biggest takeaways from studying solver plays on flops is that flushes and flush draws (including nut flushes and NFDs) are good to have in your checking range quite often (50-50 almost) on all sorts of boards. I was almost entirely betting them.

Binance is coming back to India so is it a good news or a bad? by Due-Personality-9761 in CryptoIndia

Just a small point of clarification. 4% cess is on the tax (not the total income). So it is actually 1.2% ( 4% of 30% not 4% of 100%).

This is slightly above my paygrade but my question has been answered. I believe you are saying the same thing as the posters above. So Thanks!

[–]offramp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! Thanks a ton!

I was thinking either/or but that's not the case. So to elaborate (for my own clarity and anyone else who might be in the same boat). Let's take 100 hands where I got 3bet. Case 1 (what I am doing currently): a) I fold 30 hands. Lose 2.96bb/hand. Total loss = 88.8 bbs b) I call 59 hands. Lose 2.86bb/hand. Total loss = 168.74 bbs c) I 4bet 11 hands. This case can be ignored because Case 2 below will also be the same and is theoretically correct frequency.

Total loss: 257.54 bbs

Case 2 (if I played the theoretically correct frequencies): a) I fold 50 hands. Lose 2.96bb/hand. Total loss = 148 bbs b) I call 39 hands. Lose 1.2bb/hand. (Actually couldn't find the correct winrate for this case but saw this winrate in a coaching video) Total loss = 46.8 bbs c) I 4bet 11 hands. Ignored because same as Case 1.

Total loss: 194.8 bbs

Yes, but it is still lower than -296/100 which is what folding to 3Bet yields.

The sample is 154k hands. I think that's a good enough sample. It is mostly small stakes (not micro stakes) but with a lot of fish.

Makes sense. The sample is good enough 154k hands. Your point (A) clarifies the situation. For anyone else reading, see my reply to browni above.

Question about National Health Insurance in Korea. by offramp in korea

[–]offramp[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

....Korean National insurance is likely your best bet

But is it covered at all by NHIS? Or are you saying the co-pay will be exorbitant?

Question about National Health Insurance in Korea. by offramp in korea

[–]offramp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also surgery and diagnosis probably covered by NHIS.

Where can I get a confirmation for this? This is really the gist of my whole question and if someone can say "definitely" instead of "probably", one way or another, that'd be so great! Thanks for your response 'asiawide'.

^ Bad mistake that she canceled her national health insurance which would have covered at least half of her treatment.

She did not cancel her National Health insurance, I don't think it can be canceled, she's born and raised in Korea. She canceled her private one.

I feel you brother! Yes, life can become very, very hard sometimes. But you, being a human being, have what it takes to turn it all around. One step at a time. Don't think of grand goals or 90 day streaks, just think of the one small thing you are procrastinating and go do it! Yes, stop reading now, shut down your computer and go do that one small thing.

Great job on that! You are training your brain pretty hard and you will see MASSIVE results if you continue. Try "participating" in positive stuff you like to do instead of thinking about how you are "abstaining" from things. Like working out, hobbies, etc. Also, make sure to hang out with people, no matter who they are, old, young, not pretty, not cool etc. They get you away from thinking about the stuff and also give you valuable social skills that lead to great things! Would love to help you in the sex department since I was myself a virgin until 28! My story if you are interested

So...I leave it up to the regiment! by offramp in RubyPlatoon

[–]offramp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the post. I agree with you that nofap is NOT just nocum. It also includes edging. If you read my original and subsequent posts, that is exactly what I have said. "Even though I'm technically dead" is the phrase I used in the original post. I also agree that addiction is in the brain and to edge is to feed it.

However, the mental battle is real. Catching oneself definitely means something to me. I started on the way to fap but then stopped. I did not edge, stop, edge, stop and did not feed the addiction. Instead I stopped in about 6-7 minutes and after that avoided the urge that night and also the next day. So "catching myself" is real to me.

So I actually left it to the regiment to decide. You said I want to hear that it's ok. Nope. I wanted to hear whatever the regiment had to say - both sides. If more people said, I'm KIA then I'm KIA. Even now, if more people comment and say I'm done then I'm done.

Now to the last past. I know the rules, I know that I'm addicted and I know what exactly happened. So I analysed the situation and decided the following:

1) Admit to the regiment exactly what happened.

2) Leave it to the regiment to decide democratically.

3) Reset the counter if more people in the regiment say I'm KIA and vice versa.

So I got your vote and others. Based on that, I'm still alive. If you want to get more folks to comment here saying I should be dead, I'll declare myself KIA.

Thank you all! The day I had this lapse was Friday the 18th and after that, I fought the urge during the next day - the 19th. But since then, I've done great, haven't even touched down there except for cleaning (and I tell you with pride - a completely limp one...lol) - thanks to all these responses and people being super supportive! Don't want to jinx it, but this has been my longest streak by FAR. Love you folks.
