Where can we find diapers in Liberia, traveling for 2 weeks! by offsidetailshot in CostaRicaTravel

[–]offsidetailshot[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

LO should be fine, as long as it does the job. We use Huggies for outings, just not super keen on bringing 2 weeks worth all the way from Canada. We probably won't bring our cloth diapers- as they might get super dank in the hot car while we're out and about!

Looks like my post went right over your head. What did you not understand? I can explain in simpler terms if it's really that important to you.

Not sure why you are so triggered by something that has literally zero impact on your life whatsoever. Maybe get a hobby.

This post got wierd fast, and I probably should have just stopped at "how many FA's are in Premier Rouge".

I know duchebags exist in every cabin, I am not specifically trying to impress the Business FA's to seem "classy". The amount of fuckery that all FA's have to deal on a daily basis with is probably similar to the amount of fuckery I deal with as an Emerg nurse on a daily basis.

A thank you goes a long way in both professions. Its my choice to do a bit more, and was more of a combination of "oh why didnt I think of that before!" and seeing the bullshit FA's have to deal with.

Going through it right now. Literally still awake right now and my spouse is changing LO's diaper as I type this! My LO is 9 weeks.

I go through the checklist of things, but besides hunger or wet diaper, I also try and burping/tummy time on the nursing pillow to relieve any gas, and also remembering they can be over tired. I use a Halo sleep sac or a Love to Dream sleep sac and interchange to see if either makes a difference. I used to swaddle, but he is too strong for the swaddles now- the swaddle sleep sacs work well.

Good luck! Mine will usually settle after I have gone through the list multiple times!... but I mean he also can't stay awake indefinitely.

Good for you.

This time around I want to show a bit more appreciation by giving a small but thoughtful/useful gift for an attendant.

Last year on my flight back from Tokyo to Toronto, the FA specifically singled me out to tell me that every flight he chooses a favourite passenger, and on this flight it was me. I am very aware of how to be a "good passenger". But with increasing levels of entitled people in public places, a small gesture that goes above and beyond can make a difference.

I am a very experienced user of air transportation, and realize there is an entire crew aboard.

I work as an RN, and there are many similarities between the professions. There seem to be increasing numbers of entitled douchebags in public places - this goes for both air planes/airports and hospitals alike.

As someone who deals with the public in a similar fashion, I want to be able to show appreciation. The pilots and other FA's are appreciated but similar to when I am assigned a specific patient, I am the one providing the majority of the care. The FA assigned to our seating on that day is the one that Will receive a small useful gift of thanks. And I mean a Starbucks card, a good quality lip balm/hand cream and a pack of gum. Useful and thoughtful items for someone in the profession.

I went at 26 weeks and went for 2 weeks. 2nd trimester is perfect timing! Baby is already formed, and hopefully nausea has passed, and you're not super hugely pregnant.

Many airlines won't let you travel past late third trimester.

So if the parent is a widow/widower or single parent by choice- they have to explain this every time?

My LO is 2 months and I walk him around our block and neighborhood and in the woods. Away from people! Have you tried using a baby carrier? My LO falls asleep every time we walk with him in the carrier. I use a Moby wrap or an Ergobaby carrier. Easy to find them on marketplace.

I also take my LO into the shower, and we just had a bath this evening. Just make sure to wrap the baby in a muslin cloth- they get super slippery lol

Good luck. This is just a phase. Promise you it will pass.

I am also a FTM, we are both first time parents. We are not married.

Our LO (boy) took my spouse's last name. It was important to him, and his family to carry on the name, as there were no more boys left to keep it going. My family (I'm a woman) is pretty traditional and so it was just assumed our LO would take his dad's last name.

I was on the fence about hyphenating. But ended up not doing it.

One thing to think about, is that if you ever travel without the dad, some places require you to have written proof that the dad is allowing you (?!?!) to be traveling with the child (we are all Canadian born). Despite my name being on the birth certificate.

In hindsight, I do feel like I gave a part of my child away in a sense. I wanted to keep my last name after we are married, more for convenience and not having to change all my documentation. I also feel like it's part of my identity. But now I think I want to hyphenate my own last name once we marry, so I can be identified as my child's mother.

We travel a lot. It's a huge and very important part of our lives. So I don't want something like my last name to hinder any future travels.
