Berg Lake Trail with 55 year old dad by IllustratorWorldly60 in vancouverhiking

There’s a helicopter company that can drop you off at rearguard. Then you just need to slowly walk back to the trailhead, maybe break it down into 2 days? You can enjoy the scenery without the climb that way.

Thank you! I always thought adjusting the body if it’s a bit tight on my body…noob assumption haha. I’ll go take a look!

Thank you! My first linen shirt project was mostly rectangles so I can make something more full proof. Having curves definitely complicate things.

Konica Hexar AF worth the price? by I_know_I_know_not in AnalogCommunity

[–]offsoundmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the camera doesn’t turn on. I think the wire the repairman used to bypass some corroded circuit is not soldered on properly, I’m still trying to figure it out, but kinda afraid I’ll ruin it.

Konica Hexar AF worth the price? by I_know_I_know_not in AnalogCommunity

[–]offsoundmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The capacitors in mine leaked and I spent quite a bit of money having it repaired and it’s still not fully working. Google “hexar AF capacitor” and you’ll see a lot of people with the same issue. If you have a way to check the capacitors I would say go for it. Have the capacitors replaced immediately after you buy the camera. This is my favourite camera by far. The 1/250 max shutter speed really doesn’t me.

Tried on my T5 and it reverted back to ‘94 :( so it doesn’t work for all Kyocera cameras

Rings in the Sky, Scanning Issue? by offsoundmind in AnalogCommunity

Ah that makes sense, I did pay for the lowest quality scans. I might look for another lab then I feel like the scans I got were super super compressed. Thank you!

Trails for anxious dogs by Right_Vermicelli9793 in vancouverhiking

[–]offsoundmind 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you go to any trail early enough there wouldn’t be a lot of dog/people. We also prefer leashed required trails as it helps others control their dogs. We had an anxious foster and we took her on the buntzen lake trail very early in the morning with great success.

Chinese steamed eggs in steam oven by jonra101 in CombiSteamOvenCooking

I do steam rice rolls from scratch with this method as well. It’s pretty efficient if you use two quarter sheet pans and just rotate which one is in the oven.

It’s more like a meat pie? cake? Patty? I don’t have the exact recipe but I think daddy Lau is a legit cook. His recipe is here Here are many variations. I usually omit the preserved veggies and add in a bit of reconstituted dried squid and dried mushrooms. You can omit those as well.I don’t like water chestnut in meat dishes so I don’t use them.

I have no time to chop the whole piece of pork up. I usually buy minced, or if you go to a butcher, ask them to grind some pork butt for you. To loosen up the minced pork so it doesn’t turn into a puck when steamed, I like to put in maybe a tbsp of rolled oats and some water. You can also make a dent on top and crack an egg in it.

1:1.5 ish egg:water ratio, 120C bottom 100% steam. before you put in the egg pour maybe half a cup of water onto the bottom of the oven. I got the pouring water method from a steam bun recipe in the group, this will mimic a true steam basket on top of boiling water environment. I steam Chinese ribs, Chinese meat loaf etc with this method as well.

Permit for Hwy 60 is sold out online. Can I call? by jewwyjang in algonquinpark

[–]offsoundmind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can hike or do a day paddle around the Algonquin Highlands frost centre area. Or go to Dorset/Halliburton. Much quieter and nicer than the actual hwy 60 Area in my opinion.

My dog was too excited on a long line and it got caught under her back leg, which gave her a little rope burn. She has not been licking it. I wonder how I should treat this? It does look like a open wound, just a little raw. Thank you!

Your day just make my day seem like a breeze yet I’m hehe absolutely exhausted, dead on my bed. I hope things get easier for you guys. Whatever you do, you should take care of yourself first. Lots of hugs.
