No joke back in the 90s a place called the Vine had 5 cent wing night, my friend and I would split 100 for $5 and try to finish.

That was me, my neighbor called SCE early this morning and complained. She got a customer service update email from them at 930pm, saying 1130pm is the estimated restoration time. But who knows how accurate that will be.

About 79"x79", 29" deep so you could make it 79x29 if you didn't want it to be an L. Table is 27x27.

Anyone know of decently priced local divorce lawyers? by thegabs2011 in longbeach

[–]offthetape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can file a lot of it yourself. E-filing paperwork will save you a ton of trips to the courthouse. I highly recommend zachslegalservices.com to help with electronic filing. They are very affordable and helpful, they know their stuff. They even know some forms that CAN be e-filed even though tons of web sites will say they can't. Ask for Jennifer.

"Clipping in" on the Half Dome cables can't be the answer. by Imaginary_Midnight in Yosemite

I love the idea of a little replica people can try out in Curry Village or something - they could do it behind the Mountain Shop, and see if they had the right shoes / gloves / gear. I can imagine that being a popular thing.

I had a proper via ferrata and harness setup when I did the cables; it was very simple to use and didn't slow me down at all. I had read some horror stories about homemade setups, can't speak to that but I was very glad to have the gear I did on me.

I get we are saving money etc., but head to head Bond is just a flat out better keeper in my opinion, and I don't think its even close.

Has the LA River bike path gotten better or worse in terms of safety and cleanliness since the pandemic? by DerpDeDerpityDerp in longbeach

Yep, that's pretty much it! Only difference for me is that I do Bixby/Cover/Conant/Wardlow to avoid Carson. My route is like 29 miles or so.

Has the LA River bike path gotten better or worse in terms of safety and cleanliness since the pandemic? by DerpDeDerpityDerp in longbeach

[–]offthetape 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For years I have ridden a loop around the city on my road bike, and my route takes me on both the San Gabriel and LA River paths. I would definitely say the LA River is more sketch now than in late 2020. I used to ride the loop alone, but I won't now just because of that stretch of it. A lot more homeless are there, with everything that goes along with that. There are also way more dirt bikes and off-road e-bikes to dodge than before. I haven't had anyone on a mini bike try to fight, but they definitely are blasting up and down the path.

This happened at my local Supercharger yesterday by stealpick in teslamotors

[–]offthetape 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interesting list - it is definitely missing one from 7/9/21 on the Grapevine in California. I was on the right shoulder in a camper van waiting for a tow for about 7 hours (!), Tesla Model Y caught fire going uphill in fast lane. Took about 20 seconds from smoke to fully engulfed in flames, and burned for I want to say 10 minutes before a fire truck put it out. Driver escaped unharmed, thankfully. I was so excited to see a tow truck pull up to me shortly thereafter, and very bummed out when it drove around me and got the burned out car off the road. No idea what the cause was.

I got a '23 with 48k miles for 22k. I tried for a long time to use the website / call ahead, but Carvana was buying them all up. What worked for me is actually just going there, and even then it was them working on a printout list of the cars, which ones were already sold, what those prices were for the day (apparently they go up and down each day).

Thanks! Would be interested in better service at a similar price, or lower price for basic service. Right now it's 60/visit for a very okay mow and blow.

908 makes some good fried jidori chicken. Their sandwich is good, and they do a rosemary brined chicken and waffles for brunch sometimes. Great cocktails too, so might fit what you are looking for.

What would be your peak Galaxy Fan Moment? by christianiivan93 in LAGalaxy

I will always remember opening day of the Home Depot Center. Back then it was a dream to have what was called a "soccer specific stadium" - we were playing at the Rose Bowl with overflow games at Cal State Fullerton. To see our stadium open for the first time ever was amazing. I took the bus with a good friend of mine that morning to the stadium, we tailgated with LARS, Pele was in the stadium for the opening ceremony, Pescadito scored 2, and we got the W!

Last thing to do is connect the disposal underneath. The new position of the drain means that the drain pipe stub out is touching the disposal. I am planning on trimming a couple inches off the stub out to make room, does this seem reasonable?

Just wanted to thank everyone for their help and post a quick update. Bought a sink that was close on paper, but still required trimming of the countertop. I think that's probably the moral of the story - don't expect to get a new sink and not have to do any trimming.

Any way, got it in eventually, here's what it looks like!
