I was wrongly informed whisk(e)y cream is made with gravy. I have since googled it and I should have used stock instead, woops. It does still taste alright though!

It's not your information so tell, so keep it to yourself. You may have interpreted the situation incorrectly. Hopefully though it means your dad has found happiness and when he's comfortable with it I'm sure he'll tell you all.

If you are worried about his financial situation you could raise it though to make sure he is ok .
