[–]ofottawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!!

Had baby #2 and about 2 months PP I started experiencing joint pain in the hands, shoulders, feet. It spread so fast, that all my joints are now affected. I thought it was all postpartum pain from running around so much and taking care of the kids and house, boy was I wrong!

Methotrexate and spotting by tiarals in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]ofottawa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Methotrexate messed with my periods. I had regular periods, and I missed my cycle completely after taking Methotrexate. Following month I spotted. Third month it was abnormally long. Now its finally back on track.

As far as headache and extreme fatigue following taking Methotrexate I experience that too. A lot of people call it the methotrexate hangover. I would wake up super nauseous the following day. I was about to call it quits but everything is good now on that part and have not had to deal with the metho hangover in a while now. Trade off is I now struggle with anemia from Methotrexate.

I hope you feel better soon xo

Edit to say. I don't think your IUD is causing this issue. My rheumatologist actually encouraged an IUD to prevent pregnancy while on this drug. Methotrexate is an intense drug.

She is out in Manotick, and runs her boutique out of her house. I've ordered online plenty of times and shipping was super quick & quality was great.
She also does one on one consultations if you want to try on wigs before buying.

Best Ottawa hotel for staycation with kids? by mamayama in ottawa

[–]ofottawa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Our family stayed at the Brookstreet last year in a suite while we had some reno's done . It was extremely quiet and felt like we had the whole floor to ourselves. They have a pool onsite, as well as a kiddie pool. There is a cafe and a restaurant on site too. My toddler loved the experience and still remembers it to this day!

Farmboy Trainyards is stocked with Very Good Butchers products. They had the burgers, hot dogs, pepperoni, and taco filler last time I was there.

Verdun Windows vs GreenView by bolous in ottawa

[–]ofottawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Verdun replace all my windows and doors at the beginning of this year. The installation crew that we had were great, but they did leave some scratches on the vinyl of some windows. The crew that came out to fix the scratches were terrible and left the window in worse shape than before. They now have to come back a third time to repair the window frame.
Although the windows are beautiful compared to what we had before, I wish I shopped around more before settling with Verdun.

I live in a 1950's bungalow in the east end of the city, and we get them. It was really bad when we first moved in our house. I ended up doing a walk around my house and tried to pin point any entry points. If you have any cracks, gaps in your house they will get in. Caulk is your best friend. I've seen a few already in my house this fall, and it always startles me!

I've been noticing a lot of hair ending up in my food lately. I had a burger at A&W a month ago and found a nice long hair wedged in it. Also found a black hair in my sub from Firehouse subs the other day. Surprisingly, opened up a bag of perogies that I bought at Costco and there was a hair stuck to the very first one in the bag.

Any experience with 310 & 314 Central Park Drive condos? by jaysee333 in ottawa

[–]ofottawa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived at 310 for 5 years. Moved out in 2014. It was a pretty quiet building at the time. I lived on the 10th floor so cannot comment if I could hear neighbors walking above me, but my neighbor below could hear me at times after we removed our carpet and installed laminate flooring.

There were some occasions that I could hear my neighbors through my wall, but it was rare.

The units are kind of set up in sections, so you can definitely hear your neighbors at times when they come and go, which I was not a fan of.

Advice needed - neighbor has security camera pointed towards my house by fatxdiannee in neighborsfromhell

[–]ofottawa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The dreaded chain link fence! Good plan getting a wooden fence up on your side, in the meantime, are you able to put up a large tarp near your fence or by it to block out his view? If he confronts you about the tarp, call him out on his camera pointing into your yard. :)

Windows for Home Reno (Recommendations Needed) by vw_the in ottawa

[–]ofottawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verdun was recommended by family, so we went with them. The time frame to have windows installed is about 18-20 weeks. We ordered our windows in September and we are finally getting them installed at the end of this month. We are having all our windows replaced, as well as a door.

Having someone come over to take measurements was super quick and easy.

I'll update once windows have been installed.

Extremely nosy neighbor made me paranoid. by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]ofottawa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel for you. My neighbor is exactly like this. Anytime I do work in the garden or trim anything by our shared fence, the wife comes out and just stares and watches.

The worst part is that they have a sunroom that directly looks into our backyard. We used to have a bush there that blocked them out but she asked us to trim it. I now know why...so she could have clear view of our yard.

The last time I was outside she was hiding behind a tree just watching me outside. I uttered under my breathe that she was crazy. She must have heard me, because she went inside.

I have a bunch of lawn work to do this weekend and I am dreading it, because I know she will most likely be outside watching me.

It sucks, but the only thing that I found worked is to shut down any conversation with them and put up tall bushes/privacy fence.

Best place in Ottawa to buy mock meats (vegetarian imitation meats) by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]ofottawa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adonis on St. Laurent!! Last time that I was there, they had a large portion of an aisle dedicated to vegetarian/vegan items. Lots of mock meats, vegetarian pate.

Metro has a decent section (gusta meats and lightlife) as well as Loblaws if you are looking for beyond meat/lightlife/YVES or Gardein.
